  Es bonito venir a visitarlo, cómo el pasar de los años y el salitre, han ido deteriorando la historia que hay aquí.
  Vivir en un país del tercer mundo, que no aprovecha todos los recursos que éste tiene, da como resultado el que hayan lugares así en pleno deterioro, sin ningún tipo de explotación turística ni comercial.
  Pero si vienes a visitarlo, te gustará demasiado. Te animo a que lo visites.

  Un pedazo de historia en este lugar, sería interesante convertirlo en un lugar turístico o museo, pero no lo es lamentablemente.

  Puerto San José used to be an important port on the Pacific coast. A railway from Guatemala City reached it in 1884.
  
  Nowadays, the port has moved to the nearby Puerto Quetzal and the railway has been abandoned at least since 1996.
  
  Tracks are missing on several places. If the operation should ever resume, it would be first needed to evict a long row of stores and merchant´s stands, built in the city right on the tracks.
  
  We find ourselves at the old Railroad Station as now the Fresh Fish Market has taken over the area. The buildings remain in pretty good condition.
  
  The Fresh Fish is worth the drive.
