A traveler's delight. GREAT food and an (international) atmosphere that transcendents the tiny space. A pearl. A diamond. Please don't tell anyone else about Carlos' and Carolina's small little corner and Ceci's mansarde!

Great drinks. Amazing and friendly staff The story of that couple running the restaurant is amazing and the food was also amazing. I have been there 3 times, and this is definitively my favorite place in Antigua.

Between google reviews and a new foodie friend's enthusiastic recommendation, we were excited to try Por Que No. We lucked out and got in on a Saturday night without a reservation when someone else didn't show for their reservation. The beer and sangria we had were good. The service was great. Our waitress recommended her top three or four dishes and we picked two of them. I wish we had enjoyed them more, but we found them good but not great.
One was their Lomito de Res, advertised as tenderloin but definitely not tender like good filet mignon. We chose it with the wine sauce. The sauce was good but the steak needed generous application of salt, and was considerably tougher than we expected tenderloin to be.
The other entree was Camarones Cobanero, shrimp with a creamy sauce flavored with cobanero chiles. This had a very nice flavor. It was served over a large bed of rice in a flavorless tortilla bowl. I think the dish would be improved by serving it in a pasta bowl instead of the tortilla shell, reducing the rice and adding vegetables. (Would love to get more vegetables here in Antigua restaurants generally!)
They offered only one dessert, a brownie sundae, which is not normally my go-to dessert. However, this one was fantastic and we found ourselves fighting over the last bites and thinking we should have each gotten our own! Highlight of the meal. The brownie had crispiness on the outside with melting chewy gooeyness inside, two scoops of good vanilla ice cream, and drizzles of very good chocolate sauce.
The place is tiny, with bar, kitchen, and bar stool seating for about 7 on ground floor. There is a narrow stairs with no handrails and a rope to help haul yourself up to get to the upper level where there are about 10 tiny tables that seat 2 each.
Given the reviews and the dessert, I would go back. Other dishes might wow us more. Dessert and service get five stars, entrees get three so I averaged that to four stars.response / report this review -

What a cool place! Lucky to have come across this local gem. Great pizzas, amazing beers and an awesome staff ruining the place. A must visit when you're in town. Just be ready to squeeze in

This place is amazing. It’s TINY and full of character. Excellent service, great friendly staff and loads of character and charm. The food was fabulous - everyone in our group of 3 loved their meals. And the wine we ordered was great too. And all for very reasonable prices. You can’t beat this place - if you’re visiting Antigua make sure you have at least one dinner here Maybe more!

Don't be sceptic about all these awesome reviews - they're so true!! The food, the wine, the atmosphere, the service, the everything..! Don't hesitate, just go. Seriously. We eat mostly vegetarian but the steak here was irresistible. And the brownie! Ohh I want to go back!

I love this place. When they say it's "tiny," they mean it. BUT Carolina and the small staff are great. The food was awesome and unique. I'm almost afraid to talk about it because it's such a gem, I'd hate to see it change with the big touristy crowds. But good people deserve good things.

If you are visiting Antigua make sure this is one of your stops. The restaurant has so much character and the staff are even nicer.
We came on Monday and the place was full! At least 20 minute wait for a table. We decided to come the next day and were surprised that the staff still remembered us.

This little hidden gem is absolutely the best place to be in antigua! Once you walk inside you feel immediately like you are at home and welcome!
Food and drinks (just beers and wines) are amazing and the staff is absolutley brilliant and make the vibe of this place unique!

Very special and quaint restaurant. The foos was supeeb and the service second to none. They allow you to eat and finish without ever feeling rushed. There is no other place like this in Antigua. French jazz plays in the background while you enjoy your meal.

Such a quaint little place to have a meal and a glass of wine. It's great to get away of the heavily beaten trails of Antigua and get a little more authentic. The service and so friendly, and atmosphere and ambience alternative yet still felt quality. The food was great and as a whole the prices were very reasonable! but keen in mind the the 3 table seating means you need to be prepared to wait or make a reservation on busy nights!
