Off the beaten path so hardly anyone else around. Sunset from Temple 216 is beautiful. If you're driving yourself there, make sure your rental car has a bit of ground clearance because the road to Yaxha is pretty rough.

What a place!

When we arrived (about 9:30am) we were informed we were only the 2nd group in that day and it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. The views from the top of the temples were the best of any Mayan site I've visited, truly impressive. Yaxha just pips Tikal as my favourite Mayan site, if you're in Flores to visit Tikal make sure you get to Yaxha as well. When they dig the rest of it up it'll only get more impressive I expect!

This review is for the museum at Yaxha. Be aware that all interpretive signage is in Spanish. However the displays are understandable. The museum predominantly houses archaeological materials from the Yaxha site. There also is information on the park’s natural environment and the history of archaeological investigations.

Not too many tourists, very lush, lots of wild life and great views of the surrounding lakes. If you are lucky you may be able to witness a beautiful sunset.

Very quiet place. Perfect to imagine what was happening thousand years ago. We were 20 on the site. You can hear the sounds of the monkeys Everywhere. Be sure to catch the sunset from the top of the ruins, surrounded by jungle. What an experience.

Less crowded and less expensive than Tikal. Beautiful location on the lake. Well kept paths and signage though all in Spanish.

Increible el Parque Nacional de Yaxha, merece mucho la pena quedarse un día más en Flores y acercarse hasta aquí para intentar ver el atardecer si el tiempo lo permite. La visita guiada la hemos hecho solo un pequeño grupo y no había nadie más en todo el parque, que es como caminar por la selva. Se recomienda llevar botas de monte y ropa cómoda y repelente, hay muchos mosquitos. Solo está excavado un 10% del parque, las demás pirámides están cubiertas de hierba y árboles. Precioso todo y el guía Saul muy bueno, hemos aprendido mucho con él.

This is a nice an peaceful place where you can see Maya ruins and hear and see howler monkeys and spider monkeys without a lot of people around. There where less then 20 people in the whole site when we where here.

Wonderful place. Not much of it has been excavated, but it makes it look more authentic and natural. Going there makes you feel like you just discovered some temples in the jungle, as opposed to going to a very touristic spot.
There wasn't a lot of people when I went, only three of us. We got to enjoy the place in peace and quiet.

Lugar magico, a buen precio, cuidado y con poco turismo. 100 puntos, el toque de piedrin le da un toque de aventura extrema. En especial si se va a Nakum.

Ver el atardecer o amanecer desde las pirámides es toda un espectáculo. El parque cuenta con una zona para acampar con ranchos para armar las tiendas o colgar hamacas, duchas ecológicas y una pequeña tienda dónde abastecerse de bebidas no alcohólicas.
