IMO it’s much better to spend a night at Tikal inn than in Flores. At midday when it’s hot you can chill at the pool, do sunset tour. Next day sunrise tour, a little extra around and go back to Flores

Take one of the guides from the information kiosk in the park. Their 4-hour tours are well worth the money (~480 GTQ negotiated down to 400 GTQ - Alberto is great for English tours)

The Tikal National Park was used in Star Wars IV (1977) as the location of the rebel base, where the Millenium Falcon comes in to land and the rebel fleet is seen leaving for the battle of Yavin.

Make sure you climb up to temple IV and take in the spectacular view. And don't forget, a scene from Star Wars was filmed from that very spot.

Drax's secret space shuttle launch facility is located among the Tikal National Park in Moonraker (1979), although of course all of the interior shots were done in the studio.

bastante bueno el Hotel Tikal Inn vale la pena el paseo de las 4 am para ver amanecer, el despertar de la selva , sentados en un templo maya de 1.300 anhos
