Both my wife and I have studied Spanish at Muqb'ilb'e whenever time and availability permit. Jaime, my teacher and the school's director, has been patient and flexible, working our sessions in around our travel schedules. The garden setting, and the hospitable atmosphere of the kitchen table for 'coffee breaks' create an (almost) effortless learning environment. I've had very positive language learning experiences around Guatemala, but only at Muqb'ilb'e, being in the beautiful, but somewhat undiscovered Alta Verapaz department, have I experienced a true immersion environment.

Jamie and the entire Muqb’ilb’e Spanish School staff are exceptionally experienced in teaching multiple learning styles and levels, and in accommodating student needs. Cobán and Muqb’ilb’e are great places to further your study, enjoy fresh coffee, vibrant culture, and use as a base camp for tours of Semuc Champey!

I studies Spanish there in 2014, and I had a fantastic time there. Jaime, the director is very friendly person, he helps you with accommodation, with your trips around Coban. You feel like at home in his school. I would definetely recommned this school. And I hope I will come back in near future. Hope you enjoy it.

I spent three weeks here studying Spanish and I improved significantly in that time. The family I stayed with were very welcoming which was especially great while I was there over Christmas and New Years. I would go back if I if I am in Guatemala again.
