The Hiking and Volcano Tours are spectacular and also very exhausting, for both of us. My wife enjoyed the Upper Rim Hike, I think the best of all.

San Pedro Volcano was a long day. The views from the summit are well worth the 3 hour climb up the mountain. I was amazed to be able to see all the way to the coast.

Kara, thank you for all the planning and work you put into our vacation and time with all of your extended family.

Shout out to Poncho, Henry and all the family in San Pedro.

Henry's mother's food is great. I mean to have the chance to sit with a family and to learn about the life they live added the plus to all this.

Nicholas for taking the time to show us how a true artist creates the leather crafts from his small shop was interesting.

    I could go on.

It was exactly as you promised an adventure we will not soon forget.

    Hugs to all.

Guatemala Hiking Trails Locations & Maps

Guatemala Hiking, after traveling around the world we have found few hiking trails on earth that can rival the beauty of Guatemala hiking trails. And once you have seen it for yourself, we think you will agree. Many of the hiking trails follow the traditional Mayan trails and trade routes of the indigenous culture that crisscross Guatemala.

Guatemala Hiking trails follow the trade routes that not only supplied physical goods to the area, they facilitated the movement of people and ideas throughout Mesoamerica. Trade was a key component of Maya society and in the development of the Maya civilization. The cities that grew to become the most important usually controlled access to vital trade goods or portage routes.

Guatemala Hiking Trail locations can be difficult to find and for that reason we compiled a list of Hiking Trails throughout Guatemala based on working with the indigenous people who live in these areas and our exploration and experience of hiking these regions of Guatemala.

We have found spectacular hiking trails in Lake Atitlan, Antigua Guatemala, El Mirador Tikal and the Rio Dulce River in the area of Livingston Guatemala.

The following is a list of our favorite hikes. These trails are suitable for all levels of hikers from novice to advanced. No special equipment is required.
