  IGLESIA CATOLICA data desde que El Asintal fue aldea de Colombia Costa Cuca, Quetzaltenango, se fundo como municipio desde el año 1928, esta iglesia antigua esta catalogado como un monumento histórico de la Cabecera Municipal de El Asintal, Retalhuleu.
