The shuttle to take us to the volcano never came and we did not get a refund.

My friend and I had a great time thanks to our excellent guide Jose who was very kind, collected, and friendly. The food was yummy and (with the help of some extra sleeping bags available to us because of our small group size) we slept comfortably through the night. For the price I would recommend this!

Our guide Jośe "El cheppe" was great. It was hard, but he took the time and was very patient. We were a group of 4 and it was the best way to experience it. Good food. Great experience and great fun! Highly recommend it

This experience was both physically and mentally draining as well as absolutely incredible. I am purely writing this review as a shout out to my guide Wilfred. He was fantastic and so thoughtful and kind. With my pre-existing injury, he went to lengths to ensure that I would be okay. Could not think of a better person to be my guide. I was not able to provide feedback so I hope this gets to the right person

On a fait l'ascension de l'Acatenango avec GT Adventures, L'agence est légèrement absente dans le processus de réservation mais du reste tout est parfait, nos deux guides Thomas et Manuel ont été excellents, très responsables ils ont été au top niveau sécurité et n'ont jamais laissé quelqu'un à part du groupe, ni devant ni derrière, sans pour autant mettre la pression à ceux qui avaient du mal à avancer. Une équipe au top toujours à l'écoute et plus qu'intéressante, de la nourriture plus que correcte et une expérience nickel

Stay away from this company!
We booked a one-day trip up Acatenango, but the guide didn't show up. We were ready at 5 am, as we had agreed; when the guide didn't show up, we waited for two hours, but nothing. Finally, we went to the office to get our money back, and we were told he (our intended guide was named Juan Miguel) had gotten drunk the night before, so he didn't want to wake up and guide us.
The worst part is that this was our last day in Guatemala. So, because of this company, we never got a chance to climb Acatenango. (In addition to spending our entire morning trying to get our money back!)
This is the most unprofessional, irresponsible company I've dealt with in Central America. Do yourself a favor, and schedule your adventure with someone else!report this review -

I reserved a Saturday morning Volcán Pacaya trek and the van never showed up 😠
I reluctantly rescheduled for the next day and GT paid our national park entrance fee. All went well and we had a great experience on the trek, but then GT called me asking for payment 😣.report this review -

if you care for your life don't book with gt adventures. I almost died because of their lack of professionalism. I booked with a friend a trek to acatenango with two guides timoteo (in the front) and Lucas (in the back). We started to climb i was in the front with timoteo and my friend was with Lucas the other guide more down. After a few hours climbing the volcano it started to snow and the guide Timoteo told us to keep going, we TRUSTED him so we continue we walked one hour and a half in the SNOW to reach the camp. When we arrived all was surrounded by snow it was IMPOSSIBLE to camp! Timoteo wanted first to camp and every body in the group was completely freezing they all say that it was really DANGEROUS and that we should come back. After long minutes, the guide timoteo started to freaked out and literally ran while shouting «WE ARE GONNA DIE, RUN !!!». He LEFT the ENTIRE GROUP and RAN. Everybody was so scary so they all run! At that point I couldn't feel my hands and my feets, i fall in the snow and i couldn't stand up. NOBODY WAS HERE. I was ALONE at the TOP of the MOUTAIN without feelings my feet and hands and I WAS SO SCARY ABOUT LOSING ONE OF THEM. I finally and very hardly found the force to stand up and started to go down. After a while going down i met my friend who told me that the guide lucas just left! And then we met the guide timoteo down again and it started to become dark in the mountain. He asked us if we had a frontal lamp i said yes then he left us a SECOND time in the mountain IN THE DARK. EVERY STEP was SLIPPERY and DANGEROUS. I'm still shocked and still can't believe what happen in that mountain...an HORROR MOVIE. We tried to complain the day after at the agency and the boss was «not here...». I'm trying now to recover by taking it in the good way and think that i discovered myself new physical limits...your agency have to be shut down, you are dangerous and irresponsible!!!
