  Great school to learn in!!
  Great atmosphire! Great techers, everybody is really nice and helpfull.
  I had only one week, and it was a really good one, I made a really good progres and felt good with learning there.
  They have afternoon activities almost everyday
  I would really recommend on these one ! :)

  It's the best!! I just finished 1 week of Spanish class and I enjoyed it so much! My level of Spanish was zero and my teacher was the best I could wish for. Great way of teaching and a lot of fun!! Definitely recommend it, ask for Alexander to teach! Homestay is fun too.

  Brilliant school! I've just got back from Guatemala and spent two weeks at El Portal spanish school. I had a wonderful teacher who was very patient and helped me learn at my own pace - I cant believe how much i learned in just two weeks! I found that my confidence in trying to speak with local people increased significantly. My teacher took time to talk with me (in spanish!) all about Guatemala - it is such an interesting place. The school also organised cultural trips which we thoroughly enjoyed. All of the staff were friendly and really helpful.
  
  My husband and I had a 'homestay' for the 2 weeks. We stayed with a lovely family and were treated as part of the family. They were all so patient with my broken spanish and helped me improve.
  
  We enjoyed our experience so much we are planning to return to El portal school next year! I can't wait!

  Had a fantastic two weeks here in August 2015. It really is total immersion which I found was a great help to my learning. 5 hours of 1:1 tuition each day and a family stay with a local family as well was a great experience and at such a reasonable price.
  
  I felt that the tuition was specific for my level of ability and challenging at the same time. Great teachers and a very welcoming place. Highly recommended.
  
  Lela itself is a great city, so much to do and see. The activities that are arranged after school some days really help you explore too.

  I studied here for 2 weeks after spending 2 weeks at another school near Lago Atitlan (that I won't name). Anyway the difference was chalk and cheese. Really good quality teaching, amazing value for money and home stay family were an actual family which I think sometimes isn't the case.
  
  I learnt more here in 1 week than I did in 2 at the other place because the teaching was geared to my level and not just blindly following a text book. Also helped that it included lots of casual conversation rather than just exercises. Plus Xela is an amazing place too.
  
  Study here, you won't regret it. Wish I could get back there to finish what I started!
