I didn't stay at the hostel, was just recommended to go here for breakfast and I'm happy I did! 25Q for a full plate of fruit, beans, omelets, and toast and it had a coffee included. It was super tasty and you had an amazing view to look at while you ate.
I sat in the hammocks until my food was ready as well! The vibe of the place was super relaxed and the staff were super nice.
Even if you don't stay here you should stop for breakfast! Cheap and delicious, and I left stuffedresponse / report this review -

Wonderful view, staff was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Bar is a fun place to hang out but rooms are quiet. Beautiful place! The crew even helped us book our outings and travel - very smooth. Completely recommend!!

Avoid this hostel. The owner was very nice and friendly everything else with El Muro was a nightmare. The claimed they offer tours out of The hostel which I asked to do one day and they told me they weren't offering them you will have to go book with another hostel. They also claim to offer food at the hostel which is whenever the staff feels like offering food. After coming back from a long day trip one evening at 6pm they told me "they shut the kitchen down go find food in the street." The next morning i woke up at 7am to catch an 8am bus for 10 hours, went to the bar to order even just a plate of fruit only to be told again "sorry kitchen closed." So by the sounds of it your better off staying at another hostel.
The staff other than the owner were useless arrogant and spoke no English. They would get visibly upset when you went to ask them for something as little as a towel or toilet paper. They spent majority of there time laid out on bar stools watching TV. On occasion just ignoringbpaid visitors and just hitting on the female tourists. I spent 4 nights here which was 4 nights too long. I would have left earlier but I came down with food poisoning and was stuck. I don't want to blame El Muro for the food poisoning but i wouldnt be surprised if it was there fault.
Lastly they lock the doors of the hostel at 12pm. So if your out at another hostel visiting with friends or grabbing a few beers past 12 you won't have a place to sleep that night. One night they even shutdown the hostel at 10pm so the staff could go to a nearby hostel Zephyr lodge just to drink and party. We were locked inside.
The only positive was the nice view of the mountains from the bar. So basically no food and the place on lockdown. I call this place a prison not a hostel.response / report this review -

Rooms are basic and a little small but clean and no bugs. The owner is amazing. Super knowledgable about all the tourist destinations in the country. You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't pick his brain on your next stops. We completely changed our travel plans due to his advice and it worked out great. The views are great, and the common area is a nice social spot. Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced and you get a welcome shot of locally made liquor. Would absolutely reccomend.

One of the most amazing places where I slept! I was there with my group and we were 10 persons, all of us satisfied! Try the extreeme tour 'cause it's a ones in a lifetime experiences with them!!! Simple rooms but they are really kind and friendly.

The area around the bar with the hammocks are amazing! Very good for meeting new people. Fantastic view.

The staff is amazing and the rooms are clean but rudimentary. The bar and hammock area is a must to hang out and meet new friend's.

The staff is awesome and really nice. Big shout out to the beautiful Aya! Thanks for your hospitality ;) The hostel also have a nice view on the nature and you can enjoy the hot weather hammock.

A great place to sleep and enjoy the view while you drink or eat something from the pub. The staff is amazing specially Max. You don't have to go to other hostels for partying because here you can have fun and sleep a quiet night. Go for it! 😉
