  I choose this school because of the good reviews .
  
  But I realized after arriving that they are very money minded .
  And the man had attitude.
  
  For instance the homestay other schools provide meals for seven days .
  This school only for 6days .
  
  Most activities , like everything you want to do you need to pay extra .
  But when I booked it says that everything is included in the programs .
  
  With my ancestors being from the same region, I don't like not being
  Transparent and being tricked to pay extra .

  This Spanish language school is great for immersive Spanish with a friendly homestay option (with meals). They are focused on giving the student one on one lessons based on your level and specific needs. The teachers are patient with students as they follow a structured methodical process to learn Spanish well. The school is also involved in the community by building homes and helping with meals for some the poorer members. There are group activities every evening and one outdoor adventure per weekend ranging from Q15-Q150. I spent 4 weeks here and hope to come back soon. As a note, San Pedro is a very safe town. Walking at night is not an issue and everyone is very friendly. The town sits at the base of an inactive volcano on Lake Atitlán with several towns to visit close by via boat. If you have a few weeks to immerse yourself in Spanish, this is the place to do it.

  Great overall experience and a good value. Qualified, friendly instructors that can teach at any level. Attractive school facility. My host family stay was pleasant. Highly recommended.

  Lovely, friendly and professional instruction!
  
  I am very much a beginner and I had only a few days so they accommodated my needs to for some improved basic conversation skills and so that I could understand more of the questions asked of me. I was able to learn and share with my lovely maestra the cultures and traditions of the people and the area. I hope to return next year for longer.

  This is a very good school in San Pedro. The teachers have different teaching methods but they all are very experienced and take their job very seriously. The staff and teachers all speak good English with helps beginner students. The location is beautiful and we lived with a great host family. The prices are also very good. Recommended strongly!

  Our 15 year old stayed with a wonderful and welcoming host family during a week of classes. The family was so gracious to share both themselves and beautiful San Perdro. Administration and communication at the Cooperative School were clear and smooth- very helpful. Our daughter learned not only to improve her spanish, but she learned about life and about Guatemala. Highly recommended for families and independent teens! Caring, supportive, lovely setting, excellent teachers.

  A wonderful school, with professional tutors and a thorough curriculum. The school is set in a green leafy yard, and each student and teacher pair have a private cabana to practice in. After school activities are a great way to meet other students, and get to know the town. We had a fantastic host family, who really added to the experience. The school also has programs in the local community building houses, buying school supplies, and providing food for some of San Pedro's poorer residents. Part of each students tuition goes towards their community programs.
