Five stars really arent enough. Wonderful staff, first rate accommodations and excellent food. Then there's the fishing Our knowledgeable Captain and seasoned mates made this trip well worth it. Prepare yourself for all of the Dorado and Sailfish you can pull on.

We have been to CVL three times now and everytime has been amazing. The fishing is world class. We caught 10-25 sailfish per day! The rooms are big and clean and the food and service is unreal. If you are headed down south and looking for adventure with a side of luxury, be sure to look them up!

Fishing is great. Friendly crew and all staff. They go out of the way to help you. Not much to do if u don't fish. San Jose has nothing. Trip to Antigua is nice on off fishing day.The food is worth the trip !!! Enjoy !!!

Our party of 3 fished for 3 days. We had 4 marlin raises, 3bites, and 3 releases. Total of 16 sailfish releases. Couldn't have asked for a better trip. Captain and crew were the best I have ever fished with! The lodge was beautiful and the food was exceptional. Easily deserves 5 stars

Absolutely the best fishing trip ever!! From start to finish, the experience was perfect. My two sons and I spent 5 days fishing and enjoying the lodge. We were blown away! I saw more sailfish, tuna, dolphin, turtles and marlin than I thought I'd ever see in a lifetime. The people at the lodge and on the boats are second to none. Book your trip and go!!!!! You will not regret it.

My wife and I just visited Casa Vieja Lodge and had an amazing time. This property and fishing in Guatemala was so hyped before our arrival, but was as good if not better than advertised. The food & drinks were delicious (one of the best blackened dorado meals I've ever had), the service from everyone was great, and it was nice to be able to mingle with the owners & captains at night in the rancho. These guys have been in business for 20 years so they know what they are doing and have their system down - Amazing fishing, great service, good food.
The lodge rooms were spacious and air conditioned and had private bathrooms with hot water showers. The rancho serves as the main dining hall and bar area and has flat screen TVs to stay up to date on sports & news, a pool table, foosball, and is a great place to hang out and have drinks with fellow anglers after a day on the water. All their boats are in perfect condition and these guys see so many fish year after year there is no doubt they'll put you on as many sailfish as you can handle. They fished Shimano Tyrnos conventional tackle and even provided flies and fly rods - pretty impressive. I landed my first three sails on the fly plus another seven on conventional gear in our one fishing day - and missed plenty of others! We saw 22 fish in our one day on the water - great day for us but an average day at the office for them! Definitely one of the best fishing lodges I've been to, I can't want to go back.response / report this review -

My wife and I spent 3 nights and 2 days of fishing aboard the Afinity with Captain Chico. The experience was amazing from the time they picked us up at the airport until we left. The staff, lodging, food, service and especially the fishing was incredible. If you are looking into a trip, we would highly recommend Casa Vieja Lodge.
