Lovely spot for a vacation. Be sure to visit the nature reserve. Panajachel is fun to wander through and has some good fast food restaurants.

Very beautiful area and it is very serene and peaceful. Lake Atitlan has everything from low budget facilities to higher ends. Restaurants are plentiful and plenty of vegetarian type food too which to me was great! Be ready to have a long and bumpy ride but it is all worth it.

Buen lugar para contratar una lancha privada y adentrarse en el lago. No es tan limpio como podrÃa ser, pero me pareció un lugar bastante seguro.

Amazing shops and beautiful scenery. It's a hard drive if you're coming from Antigua, but it makes a great day trip. Great place to experience the culture and explore more of Guatemala. I'll admit the drive was tough, so make sure you bring Dramamine

Living within the area of Lake Atitlan for most of my life has made me have a very special connection with the place.
Its a beautiful, calm, happy, place that grabs lots of attention with its unique volcanoes and beautiful lake.

Beautiful hotel. Beautiful views of volcano. Gardens are exquisite. You must check out the nature preserve which is only a 5-10 minute walk away. While I was there is was very windy at night.

Beautiful lake, beautiful people. To think that this lake resulted from a volcano eruption 85 thousand years ago (or millions?). So many things to do around the lake. Definitely worth a trip, but keep your mind open, third world is third world.

The lake is really picturesque, set against hills and vulcanoes. We stayed in Panajachel which is the most developed and offers many restaurants and accommodation options, however, it is less charming. Many people prefer smaller towns of San Pedro or San Marcos. You can travel between villages by boat and it is around 25Q per trip. I would recommend a hike from Santa Cruz to Jaibalito and San Marcos which has stunning views. Or simply grab a drink and some food and watch the sunset from one of the lakeside restaurants.

Absolutely lovely. All around great place. We did not stay at the Hotel - just had breakfast on our last morning and it was LOVELY. A tad expensive, but you pay for the view and nice food!

Great location to go to, lots of tourist lots to see and safe. Kind of expensive, be sure to carry both U.S. dollars and local Q's. Not as pricey as Antigua but close.

Han escuchado sobre el paraÃso en la tierra?, tiene que venir a conocer el Lago de Atitlan, rodeado por volcanes y con una extensión impresionante, conocido como el Lago mas bello del mundo.
