Visited for brunch. Excellent, as described and expected. Very cozy environment, friendly staff, excellent food. On the downside, a bit expensive.

Very good place for one or two nights to escape the heat of central Athens and before going to airport. Not appropriate as a centerpiece of vacation in Greece. Rooms facing woods and sea are quiet but I can see how pool-facing rooms would be noisy. Getting an exec room didn't get a sea view. On weekends the pool bar serves drinks past 2 am. The pool and grounds are gorgeous but full of young kids in August. The rooms -- even the exec rooms -- are on the small side but nicely appointed. The common areas are very elegant. Breakfast is good. Service is friendly but not overly solicitous.

This was one of the best boutique hotels I've ever stayed at. The customer service and friendliness of the staff was unbeatable. The pool area is amazing and is absolutely magical at night time. The buffet breakfast in the morning was delicious and fresh. I treated myself to a facial at the spa that's in the hotel and it was a piece of heaven. I also got to enjoy a fabulous dinner just around the corner. This area has many local restaurants that serve amazing food with an unbeatable view. The Margi also had a great restaurant right by their incredible pool space - you really don't have to leave the hotel for anything. If I come back to Athens I will definitely be staying here again.

We stayed on the first floor where the music from the pool/bar kept us wide awake until 3am.
Service was very friendly but also very slow. It took almost an hour to serve dinner whilst the restaurant place was not yet busy. Same thing happened in the pool area where it took 15 minutes to get a coke. Bringing the luggage to the room also took 2 hours.
The food in the restaurant and for breakfast was top notch. The comfort in the room was very good but the room was showing signs of wear with dirty splatters on the wall and a bit of mould between the bathroom tiles.
We did not use the spa.
Personnel at checkout did not ask how our stay was and presented the final sum to be paid on the card machine without first showing the cost breakdown.
For the price, the hotel performed well below expectations.response / report this review -

It is very a relaxing and sophisticated boutique hotel. Service is excellent. The menu at the Patio Restaurant is fabulous; very creative and great value.

So happy the Astir Palace hadn't yet opened and we were forced to discover The Margi. So gorgeous from the room to the pool to the breakfast buffet to the tsipourou glass at the bar. Reception very kindly and efficient: especially Nadia. Thank you Vougliagmeni

Our check-in experience was quite smooth. Staff was polite (well, relatively speaking), room was spacious, valet parking and luggage delivery very quick and efficient, good selection in breakfast buffet (although we had to find our way to get hot coffee!), good wifi connection.
This property is quite old and needs renovation. In our suite, doors were rotten, furnitures worn off, balcony door dysfunctional, room lighting controls old tech, bathtub drain clogged.
**DO NOT LOOSE SIGHT OF YOUR CREDIT CARD!**
Be aware that the reception attempts to take a double sided copy of your credit card at check in without informing you. They have a copier installed under the countertop, so if you lean in and watch closely what they are doing with your card, you will notice that they are photocopying it. The establishment may not dare to use this information wrongfully, however who could guarantee that a receptionist will not get ahold of this information and disappear? A copy of a credit card is almost as good as a credit card itself and the person having your card details could use it for online shopping unless you have set up additional authentication steps with your provider. If you notice that they are copying your credit card, immediately ask them to stop and tear/discard the copies yourself. For extra peace of mind, you could also white-out the 3 digit CVC number on the back of your card after memorizing it or saving it to a safe location.
**A word for non-smokers**
Greek people LOVE to smoke! According to a recent study, Greece has the highest tobacco consumption in EU (with approx. 40% of its population smoking). Supposedly a law was passed in 2010 prohibiting smoking in public areas but apparently nobody gives a rat's ass and the law is not even enforced anywhere with the exception of airports. Just be aware that wherever you visit, chances are it will be smoke-filled.
The odor in our hotel room was so heavy that we had to keep on spraying air fresheners and kept windows open at all times. When I asked the reception whether it was allowed to smoke in rooms, the answer I got was "our rooms are non smoking but we can provide you with an ashtray".
Look like Greeks are passing laws just for the heck of it!
