Great location, in the old town,. However, my room was in a separate 2-room annexe. So I didn't really use the hotel, other than to have breakfast - in a beautiful setting - a private courtyard garden. However, breakfast itself was disappointing - limited choice.

The 2 staff I have seen were both pleasant, especially the night porter when I checked in at midnight - made me feel welcome.

My room is quite small. They have clearly spent a lot of money on fitting it out with nice tiling, etc. But let down by patches of mould on the grouting along the edge of bath, and limescale build-up. With a deep clean, it could look lovely, but they've clearly let standards slip, which is a pity.

Minibar is useless - hardly has any refrigeration power. Aircon worked well though, so room is cool & comfortable at all times - perfect for high season, when it's 33oC outside.

WiFi internet works well. Inadequate lighting, so room feels dark all the time (just one small window). Quite nice furniture - glass-topped, dark wood tables & desk, good quality table lamps. There are lots of electrical switches which don't seem to do anything! Also I didn't use the room safe, as it was locked, without them telling me the code, when I arrived. Too much hassle to ask them for assistance, so I didn't bother, as only a brief stay.

Bed was big - so plenty of room for 2 people - must be a king size, although the room itself is not large, so there's little extra space.
Bathroom was a good size, but poorly cleaned/naintained. Although there was plentiful hot water, with good pressure, at all times of the day & night. They use quite a pungent toilet cleaner, which stinks out the whole room until it's been flushed a couple of times. Also a rather pungent air freshener in the wardrobe.

I feel that the pictures on the hotel's website/Expedia give quite a misleading impression, of being much more luxurious than it actually is! So I feel the hotel did not live up to my expectations.

Overall, would I stay here again? Sadly not. The maintenance issues are such that it wasn't worth the considerable extra money I paid above the price of a budget hotel.
