  Astonishing. The actual palace of the king of Pylos, who fought in the Troyan war. Good idea being able to walk over the ruins thanks to an elevated pathway.

  It can be seen that there was a palace, and there are clear and interesting information boards (yet similar info can probably be found online)
  But there isn't much to see.
  All excavated items were removed and are now in Athens archiological museum.

  This is a disappointing exhibition of 21at century engineering which totally dominates the sparse excavations. It may be a convenient stop for coach tours - 10 minutes and toilets - but for anyone seriously interested in archaeological sites try Messini!

  Open after restoration, covered from the elements, and raised walkway for easy access, very disabled friendly access to all site. Archeologist will talk to you if you approach especially if interest in ancient archaeology.

  We decided to stop by and see if the site was open yet after mixed information. It is and is looking fabulous. We met the lead archaeologists husband and learned a great deal. Fantastic!
