  Nice and impressive to see from the seeside mount Arhos. Monastries are very good to see from shoreside, details and architecure are presented in english/german. We'd sea cruises Athos - pretty good. (!)sun creme and head is a "must have".

  Absolute recommendation for every male interested in spiritual maturation to get a Visa and visit this place. Athos has been Monasteries since +1800 years and are now strict Orthodox.
  
  As a pilgrim one can take part at meals and ceremonies depending on denomination. Plenty of other pilgrims can lead to great conversations between faiths.
  
  Highly recommended.
