die "alten Griechen" haben vor langer Zeit gelebt und tolle Bauwerke errichtet, aber auch viel früher schon gab es große Bauten - auch wenn sie naturgemäß nicht so vollständig erhalten sind

I can think of a lot of ways to improve the visit there, but in general the feeling of being amidst the ruins of the Mycenaean culture is indescribable. Signs with information missing (post no2>)

Υπέροχη τοποθεσία με απέραντη θέα για μια όμορφη βόλτα ανάμεσα στα συντρίμμια ενός αρχαίου πολιτισμού. Θλίψη που μόνο η πύλη των Λεόντων στέκει όρθια και όλα τα γύρω είναι μια τραγωδία

Wonderful site, but best brush upon your history before visiting it. Excellent museum. Visit early to avoid the heat and crowds.

Be sure to see the numerous recovered artifacts--including the "Mask of Agamemnon"--at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. The sheer quantity of gold is remarkable.
