Important and unique byzantine castle, located in a breathtaking location. Follow the road to Paleokastritsa and head to Lakones village to enjoy the view of the area. Stop at the castle and climb to the top. Amazing place.

I liked it here. Hats off to the builders because this is one heck if a construction and I bet there weren't any hardworking Polish builders around a thousand and a half years ago. Worth a visit definitely especially if you are interested in the history of the place and the walk up isn't too bad, steep but just take it steady

There is a notice on the back side of the "ticket-office"(?) building that this "archeological site is closed", though nothing else prevents groups of tourists to enter the castle. Up inside you'll find a short information stand with a map of the fortress and its history, hard and chipped, but passable stone ladders and marvellous views 360 degrees wide. There's a nice tavern near the parking downside as well and some local souvenir workshops.

After a short but incredible high hill you will get the most beautiful view what actually you can't imagine until you see it. Amazing.
This is absolutely a must see!

Best views in Corfu. A little climb, but almost anyone should manage. There is not much left of the original castle.

Maybe it as because of the weather, it was very hot and sun was hitting us the whole day. Anyway, when we stood at the stairs to the caste, something cracked in every one of us and we decided just to chill in the olive trees shadow, instead of climbing up in 35 degrees :) Looks amazing from the distance.

Great view, but except it and 2 small churches nothing more up there. I recommend visiting it, but no need to spend much time up there - the castle looks more stunning from distance then when you climb up there.
