What a great Taverna, was always good but since the brothers have taken over the running of the the Family business it is even better, ably assisted by Papa Spyros. Very good wine list and food. Last night we had fish and the Chef came out to professionally fillet out fish. You can tell he is Hotel Trained, little things this and the complementary fruit plater after your meal sets this Taverna above the rest.
Need to book in advance to save disappointment.
The fresh fish are great. Great atmosphere and service
Real tasty! The fried zucchini is amazing!!! Very warm and welcoming atmosphere :)
Family run Taverna. Great Greek food (fresh, fresh, fish) with a modern twist. The owner, Spiros is a painter, Fisherman and musician. Well worth a visit and worth looking out for music nights.
This family-owned (and ran) restaurant is an absolute gem. We came for a late lunch and was just blown away by the hospitality. Their amazing food just made the whole experience that much better. Definitely a must visit on this Greek isle.
Just perfect ;)
Apagkio is nice and cozy family taverna located a bit away from touristic rush. We come here every time when we visit Poros, especially when we want some little tasty bites - love their mezedes! The owners - are very friendly and welcoming people, very helpful with menu choices. Prices are reasonable - you will pay around 4-5 Euro for a starter.
Touristy. Food is okay. Great views. Crowded on summer nights.
A 5 minute walk from the busy Poros centre & waterfront area is a badly kept secret. Apaghio is a family run taverna that includes family members in its everyday running. The benefit of this is that the superb quality of the food is completely managed by the family. And the family take the busy of cooking and service very seriously. One manifestation of the quality is the number of Greek families that dine at the Taverna. Greeks know good food.
If you want a table in the evening it is wise to book ahead. For mid-day meals this isn't necessarily needed although on my last visit there 28 people were sitting at table.
Go. You won't regret the food, service atmosphere or, during the day, the view to Galatas.
Great food, reasonably priced. Fresh sardines and Mussels in white wine were scrumptious. Home made Moussaka and Village Sausage divine. Host spoke excellent English, was friendly and helped with menu choices. Momma is from England and poppa from Greece. An excellent combination IMHO :-)
