Beautiful location and great view. Air condition system not properly working. Showers do not have water pressure. Very pricey.
Everything was pretty nice, but when I pay good money for a hotel (especially considering the air bnb competition) I hate to feel like a jerk for requesting things which should be included in the exorbitant price. I just called the front desk to ask for proper hangers to put my clothes away and was treated so rudely by the woman at the front desk. After she hung up on me mid question I wasn't even sure I would get the hangers until someone came to the door with them and threw them at me when I opened up. I tried to say thanks but was again cut off by my own door closing in my face as the person bringing the hangers was clearly annoyed by my request. This unfortunate experience with the very rude woman at the front desk (evening of March 20, 2018) really tainted what would have been a nice time here.
Really nice clean modern hotel, staff very helpful and smart in appearance. Just a bit of town with the road closed due to rock fall.
Four star hotel? Don't make me laugh. The front canopy says it all, tatty and ripped. If you want to re-make Carry on Abroad, this is the perfect hotel, you wouldn't have to change a thing. It was probably nice in 1950.
Breakfast is very basic, and if you want to extend your check out time, you will have to pay extra, even though you've been there a week.
The walk into town is the most unattractive walk you will ever encounter. And that is if the road is open. When I was there, the road was closed due to a rock fall and it was hell getting in and out of town.
Do yourself a favour, stay at the elliot, same price and everything is on your doorstep
Staff friendly and well presented. Rooms at front of hotel noisy from road traffic and car park. Bus stops right outside hotel. Still some scaffolding on one end of hotel. View lovely over looking the sea.
The most beautiful hotel I have stayed in! The staff go the extra mile to make your stay pleasant. The rooms are beautiful overlooking the sea! I didn't want to leave! The rooms are shabby chic which I love and I will definately try to come back next year! If your visiting Gibraltar definately check out this hotel, you won't be disappointed!
Construction noise from 8AM to 6:45PM. It is basically uninhabitable. Consider sleeping rough instead.
The view from the hotel was amazing. Though they didn't provide even a single water bottle as complimentary which was very disappointing from a 4 star hotel. Food was fine. You can go to the beach from the hotel itself. Rooms were spacious and airy.
Had a wonderful night here, listening to the sound of the sea right outside our room. We had a 'balcony' room However the balcony was big enough for one chair. The room was beautiful, big, comfortable bed, great bathroom with large shower. Only downside was that we checked in quite late and there was nowhere to get food at all. Luckily I had a few snacks
Impressive sea views slightly spoilt by the amount of container traffic coming to port. Right on the west cliff side road with nearby access to steps down to the small stretch of beach near by. Restaurant options are good, with very old world service. WiFi connection patchy in various parts of the hotel. Regular bus service around the rock and easy enough to get a taxi to the harbour. Monkeys can wander nearby but as ever you are asked not to feed them.
Old and a bit tired in places but it still has a colonial atmosphere. The place is spotless with several chilling out areas. The staff could not be more helpful. And the views were stunning. I'd like to see the view of the Mediterranean in a crashing storm. The added bonus was the bus service which stops at the entrance and takes 10 minutes to the centre of town.
Stayed for my sons wedding, the staff were brilliant, helpful and very friendly. Nothing was a chore. Made for a memorable experience. Will go back again for a holiday.
I stayed there twice. First time I had rock view. I thought it was incredible. The next time I had the sea view. Even better. Having the crystal clear Mediterranean right off of your balcony is breathtaking!
It was a great hotel. However the cost is fairly expensive for a 4 star hotel, the breakfast was also not only extra but wasn't really that good. But the place was still a lovely and comfortable stay. Recommend for a no budget holiday.
Very quite and relaxing. Outstanding Customer Service. Thank you for all your kindness.
Nice hotel in a nice bay. Found it a little bit pricey but some nice restaurants and small beach bars nearby. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Had a lovely view from our balcony. There was a lot of work going on with scaffolding but the location made up for that.
Nice hotel if looking a little tired in places. Staff very friendly, food good, a touch pricier than the local bars but cheap compared to UK hotels, views of the sea or The Rock. Bus stop right outside the door so getting around is easy. If you go to see the monkies don't let your guard down else you'll be mugged
Nice location outside of the main town in a small bay with beach and local bars. A bit out of the main areas being a good 30 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride. Nice rooms, though food and drink very expensive compared to the town with basic breakfast over £11 so drives you to eat and drink elsewhere.
We have been back time and time again. Sea view balconeys can not be beaten. May not be for everyone though.
The end of refurbishment work did not spoil our short stay and when the scaffolding has gone the views will be great. Nice hotel with friendly staff.bar service could be better with a new member (male) of staff the most attrntative.
Great hotel, lovely big beds and a fantastic location. Make sure you close your balcony window so the Catalan Bay troop of apes don't get in and pinch your complimentary shower gel. Seawater pool is very nice and quite deep. Personally I prefer the bar food, sitting outside on the veranda and looking out to sea.
No lift .. hope the good food and view will compensate for it. Still No Lift !
The hotel is actually perfect for a short brake in a busy life. Nice atmosphere, nice outlook of the Mediterranean.
Breakfast is great, if you want you can get what you like.
The cleanliness in the room is also OK. Bed very comfortable, had a good night sleep.
Don't expect to get anything to eat from the bar if you arrive late (22:30) just ask at the front desk for some sandwiches and they will arrange.
All in all I had a good stay
