Serendipalm Co. Ltd. is the world's first palm oil processing plant that is Organic and Fair Trade certified, under the Fair for Life label by ECOCERT/IMO. The project is located in Asuom of the Kwaebibirem District of the Eastern Region of Ghana. Crude Palm Oil produced from the mill is exported to customers in Germany and the United States. The company provides direct employment to over 250 people, mostly locals within the Asuom township.
The company, through its Fair Trade Fund, has built nurses quarters and a computer lab. and library in Abaam, durbar grounds in Kukubi, police station in Asuom and several mechanised borehole systems in almost all the communities that supply the mill with Fresh Fruit Bunches. The company currently works with over 600 smallholder farmers scattered around the district in areas such as Abaam, Pramkese, Asuom, Abodom, Bomso, Kukubi, Atobriso, Larbikrom, Ntronang, Okyinso, Bribriso, and Sankubease.
