Climbing Afadjato is a great experience. It is a natural and intimate interaction with nature in one of the iconic spots in the country. Even though an intense exercise, the sense completion you get at the top and back down can't be matched. It's the highest peak in the country after all. The place has been kept as natural as possible even though thousands of people visited annually. Conquering Mount Afadja was wonderful for me, you should try it 😉

This is actually the mountaintop. Don't use this location for navigation, i.e., finding your way to the entry point. Otherwise, cool.

Ghana's Tallest "Mountain" - ok so it isn't much of a mountain, but it is a difficult climb. You will want to hire a tour guide, and pay them well. Bring at least one large water bottle (1.5 liter) per person, as there is nothing available on site at the visitor's center, or on the mountain. The view from the top is worth the climb, and coming down is the easy part.

    An expedition worth taking.

Make sure you are in comfortable clothes and sneakers with less load as the climb can be stressful. Stay hydrated as well and the journey will be a lot easier.

    Enjoy the adventure.
