The Hospital was built by Bryan Lowe an African American from New York City. Construction began in 2003 and was completed in 2005.

Mr Lowe built the Hospital to address the needs of disabled people in West Africa.

The facility specializes in Orthopedic, Urology, OBGYN, and General cases. 90% of the patients served have Ghana's Health Insurance, the remaining 10% are either private patients or are too poor to participate in the National Health Insurance Program. For those patients who are poor and need medical services, Bryan Lowe Orthopedic Hospital is the only Facility in Ghana that provides Free Medical Care.

Today the hospital provides medical services to over 4,000 patients per month in the following areas: Orthopedics, Urology, OBGYN, Maternity, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy and Drug Store, Lab, X-ray, Operating Rooms, Emergency Services, Out-Patient and In-Patient Services, UltraSound and a full Service Restaurant.
