Nature at its peak. .. a very happy place. Lots of sunshine by the pool and live band by the sea side while you enjoy lunch. Lots of green and Seaview as well as a lovely assortment of local dishes- Ghanaian. Warm staff, happy to answer questions and give good suggestions. If you are adventurous with food. ..and love nature, this is the place to be!
This Hotel is very beautiful and the gardens are just lovely.
It has a huge and safe spacious car parking lot.
It is very easy to locate especially using google maps.
The road network from Kotoka International Airport to the Hotel is so good. You will hardly get stacked in traffic jam.
It has a quiet and serene environment.
Friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is very well cared for and while somethings like the tilling in areas could have been better, this is a minor consideration. Breakfast was nothing to get excited about, but the large grounds is a major plus, offering respite from the noise, dust and poluted Accra air. The hotel has numerous events which is good on stay in days and the pool-side made my day more than once.
One of the best beach resort in Accra. great hospitality and service. best venue for conferences and banquets Equator bar is opened on Fridays to Sundays best place to relax and watch a live football game.
I attended a poetry event dubbed The Rhyme Sonny Experience at the Equator bar of the hotel.
It was so cool. I found my way without much difficulty with the aid of signage and security personnel.
The is very cozy with very friendly service providers.
Nice cocktails to quench your throat and make you feel relaxed.
I recommend you visit here too.
Thanks.
Rented some rooms out for the groosmen, groom and bridal party. Great amenities, and the open patios our rooms had were perfect for the wedding preparation mayhem. We also rented the venue for the actual wedding which was superb!
Such a relaxing place by the pristine beach in LA, Accra. Their rooms are meets international standards with professional staff to attend to your needs. Make sure you visit the African hut to enjoy local Ghanaian dishes and drinks.
It’s quite a beautiful place and although I could tell they’ve been around for a long while, the buildings were quite well maintained. What took away from my experience was when I asked the omelette chef (on Dec. 23) to add some cucumbers, which were right in front of her, to my omelette and she said “No” with the most stern face I’ve seen from anyone in hospitality. I also wanted to attend an event there but was given the wrong date by staff which made me miss it but their standard rooms were impressive.
The other night I had dinner at a favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, a bad customer service experience tainted the evening. The good news is that this event created a learning opportunity.
By the way, you don’t have to be in the restaurant business to appreciate and learn from this story. As I take you through the story and the lessons we can take away from it, think about how they apply to your business.
On that evening I ordered the pasta dish that I’ve been ordering for years. It came out wrong. It had peas in it. Not just a few peas, but loaded with peas. And I hate peas. I picked up the menu and confirmed that I hadn’t misread the description. Nowhere did it say peas. I motioned the server over and told her about the problem. She had a great attitude and was happily going to take care of the situation. But, just about then, the manager who had been observing, stepped in. I had never seen this manager before. He didn’t apologize, and instead told me that they have two chefs and that this one likes to put peas in the pasta dishes. He said that most people find that the peas are a pleasant surprise.
Ah, that explains it. A pleasant surprise – not for me! And I nicely told him so. He just stared at me. I could tell how uncomfortable the server was at this interaction. She wanted to do something, but the manger had taken over, and he was blowing it.
Eventually, the manger asked if I would like to get a different pasta entree. I asked if they could make the same dish without the peas, as was on the menu. He finally took the dish away.
Several lessons come out of this incident:
The server was handling things just fine. The manger got in the way of her taking care of me.The manager didn’t respond with the same enthusiastic attitude of taking care of me, the way the server did. He didn’t even apologize. Managers should set examples – good examples. The manager should have immediately taken the dish away. If you can get a problem out of the customer’s sight, do it quickly. Once the dish has been taken away, then launch into recovery mode. The manager made an excuse rather than give an explanation. There is a fine line between excuses and explanations. An explanation comes with an apology and doesn’t come across as defensive or aggressive. The manager wasn’t listening to me. Why would he call the peas a pleasant surprise when he knew I didn’t want them in the pasta? Because, he was defending the decision of his chef to change the ingredients. (Read that as changing a process if you aren’t in the restaurant business.)Finally, the incident broke the consistency of prior experiences, which now leads to a lack of confidence. The next time I order this pasta dish I’m going to have to ask if it has peas, because you never know who’s cooking in the back. Will it be the chef that likes to “pleasantly surprise” people with ingredients that aren’t listed on the menu or the chef that follows the recipes I love – the ones that make me want to come back again and again.
The restaurant is great, and I’m going back, because I know this is an isolated incident. But, what if this was my first or second time at this restaurant? Given all of the good places there are to eat, would I want to spend my hard-earned money at a restaurant, or with any type of business, that makes mistakes? My friend Tom Baldwin, former CEO of Morton’s Steakhouse says, “Great service is mistakes handled well.” That’s great advice for any business
Located along the beach in the La community, the hotel is within 5 to 10mins drive from the Accra city center under normal traffic conditions. They have a secure and spacious car park. The hotel also has a large outdoor sitting area around their swimming pool with a view of the ocean. The environment is generally serene and perfect business and leisure meetings.
The hotel is nicely located, and the rooms a grouped in several smaller round concrete buildings. The entire surface covered by hotel buildings is immense, so there is ample space for a walk. The hotel is separated from the beach by a metal fence; the beach is dirty, and desperate sellers peddle their wares through the fence. The rooms are OK, but they haven't been renovated for a long time. The service at the reception and in the restaurant is very slow, and sometimes negligent, even though the staff is generally very friendly. The food served is edible, but without any pleasure, because of too much salt and too much fat. Now, the price well, at the advertised price this hotel would not be a good deal at all, but at a reduced rate it is acceptable.
Very nice environment with a great ambience. The staff are always at your service and willing to help anytime. I really enjoyed their buffet because they had a very wide variety of food, meat, fish, cake and fruits to select from. There is this nice sea breeze outside with garden chairs that you can hangout with family and friends. This is also and ideal place for groups
Beautiful environment and a nice view on the beach. Cannot access the beach from the hotel though. The pool is nice and has a bar inside. Really liked this place, will return thete on my next visit in Ghana
Great improvement. La Palm is getting back to its former glory. Enjoyed the Ghanaian village Restaurant especially the Tigernut pudding
Very nice surroundings.
Food is good but not great - prices are in line with other similar venues in Accra and for that I would expect better presentation and quality, which makes it expensive for what you get.
Staff are friendly.
25 minutes drive from the airport on an average day - rush hour can be more than 1 hour - so if your flights arrive 7-8am/3-5pm or depart 9-11am/6-8pm the traffic will affect your transfer times greatly.
Most convincingly located on the Labadi beach at Accra, Ghana. Having African menu and scenic sunset from the lawns of this hotel. A must visit once.
I held my birthday dinner at La Palm and I enjoyed it! The service was wonderful and I couldn't be more happier. I will definitely be back again.
The hotel surroundings is very nice and clean. Lots of grass with palm trees plus tidy restrooms. Unlike neighbouring labadi you get free access to the beach which was a bonus for us because labadi charges 80 cedis per adult to access the beach. My group went to the Ghanaian village. The food is quite costly and i don't believe the ordinary Ghanaian will be able to afford it hence the 4*. As a family we were all happy with the food we had. The sizes were good and they are quite generous with their meats, stews and soups more than the carbohydrates. Overall the experience was pleasant and we had a great time. I most especially enjoyed the live band.
Beautiful, spacious and relax. Delicious meals. Great weekend getaway.
I stayed at the bar close to the beach front and the garden area. Very lovely place
This hotel is an amazing oasis right next to the ocean. The rooms are great and the pool amazing. Staff are friendly and the food good. It was a very enjoyable staying here and the time around the pool being able to have a drink at the in pool bar was fun. Highly recommended hotel.
Its a 5star hotel in Ghana and I feel at home anytime I visited I love La-palm Royal Beech Hotel.
Generally a good hotel. But in my opinion, far overpriced, as nearly all hotels in Accra and Greater Accra. Food and drink is absolutely overpriced! Rice with some small half chicken sells for about 15 US Dollars. Large Club beer is sold at about 3.5 US Dollars. Coke at 2.50 US Dollars. They have an Casino and some function rooms. Secure car parking. Evening buffet, all you can eat at about 32 US Dollars. There are many other locations in Accra, which are cheaper and of good quality.
Quite a nice place for holidays or hangout with friends or family. Service is excellent and the staff is efficient and very welcoming. The food is excellent and diversified :local and international. Just a bit expensive but if you can afford it it may be worth trying.
This place has been like a second home to me ever since I was a kid. I've just always loved how spacious the whole place is, and the amount of freedom and personal relaxation you get from visiting this place.
The "Ghanaian Village" is my favorite part of this place and their food is amazing!
They have the best kelewele I've ever tried too, and many other local dishes.
Service is very good (I've never really had any issues with the service here) and you get to eat and relax by the beach as well (even though only those staying at the hotel can actually get access to the beach itself)
The rooms seem okay when you get a glimpse of them passing by, but on the internet they look very basic (so I cannot really say much about that)
It's an amazing place for families or large groups of people looking to hangout or just relax in a quiet and free environment.
Recently though, their ice-cream service has been very unstable and it's very annoying (which is the only reason I give it a 4 star)
In the evenings jazz and live band is often played to entertain those at the Ghanaian Village part of the hotel and it just adds up to the serene beach atmosphere and makes everything just so perfect!
They've got a pub, a very big casino, a Chinese restaurant, and other restaurants and stores all in the same compound.
Car park is also very large which is a plus (there's always plenty of space to park even if there's a program going on)
What a wonderful place! We held a conference here and they took such good care of us. beautiful ball room, amazing facilitites, great staff. They have a beautiful pool that is quite amazing and everything you could ever ask for, highly, highly recommend! Special shout out to Frank and Charles, who are just wonderful caretakers. Made me feel at home. Couldn't ask for better. Classy and beautiful place.
