If you're travelling out of Ghana, best flight to get on would be the early morning flight; fewer people, ergo you get sorted out on time.

If you're coming into Ghana, same thingavoid late-night flights.

Airline employees, airport securityall very courteous, at least as far as I know.

Basically what you would expect from an good airport. Neat environment. Very helpful staff. Pretty friendly too. Navigation is made really easy thanks to all the signs pointing you where you need to go. We all know airport food is always priced outrageously but I found their prices quite okay. My overall impression is "good".

Love every bit of the environment. The only thing worth taking about is poor staff supporting. I could see both old and fragile women carrying their luggage on scale. Airlines do not accept any family, relatives or partners accompanying their relatives travelling to check. This could have been a relief in the spot of carrying or lifting luggage for check in. Something must be done to ensure quality passengers service.

This airport has improved beyond recognition over the past 20 years and is a credit to the management team. I use Katoka International every 3 months and cannot complain about any aspect of its operation. Ignore any comments about corruption as they are simply untrue. Parking is well organised, check-in is usually quick, security is thorough, duty free is adequate and the business lounge is one of the best. This is an excellent 'small' international airport. 5 out of 5 stars

Ghana's one & only international airport at the time of this review. Recent renovations has made it much better. Runway used to be terrible but its been fixed.

Airport itself isn't big as compared to many airports accross the world. Amenities are quite limited as compared to international standards.

Car parking space is good enough. Security does a good job however more room for improvement. Modern technological upgrades could be used to enhance scalability.

I loved the spontaneity to and fro. It was easier arriving as compared to departure. Friendly reception and oh, the immigration were just making money request 🤔

I think a little more needs to be done when you compare this international airport with others. My initial Boarding processes was cool with Turkish Airlines staff but was a bit disturbing with an Immigration officers who was demanding funds from me for unknown reasons which I found very unfortunate so refused giving him until another asked him to let me go for I was getting late with his misdeeds. Some walkways are not well lighted too. On arrival was so smooth without any hurdle.

Small airport, but the the man who checked my passport was the nicest I've ever dealt with in an airport. He was very friendly and left me a card with godly/uplifting quotes on it inside my passport.

The Kotoka International Airport is the international airport of Ghana in Accra to be specific.

Many global airlines utilize the airport services. The airport staff are professional and the thrill is the live music that welcomes all passengers to ghana, right at the airport!

From 2013, GACL embarked on a complete strategic redirection with a focus on upgrading and transforming Kotoka International Airport (KIA) and the domestic airports to conform with current trends in aviation infrastructure and service delivery. The new strategic direction aligned perfectly with the corporate vision of positioning Ghana as the Preferred Aviation Hub and leader in Airport business in West Africa.

Customs very well organized. Even some live jazz music in the airport. A real pleasure to arrive at Kotoka. However, advisable to arrange your ground transport ahead of time.

Kotoka International Airport - Ghana's first International Airport, situated in Accra, the capital town of Ghana, is an INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT and has the capacity for large aircrafts and airbuses. It host all the International aircrafts and airbuses across the globe.
The place is now more beautiful than you can think of.

I've worked here for a while. And I've seen some new improvements. The new terminal 3 is nearing completion. The domestic terminal has seen a facelift. The screening process at the International Departures has been upgraded. More parking space have been created for vehicles, and the waiting area for arrivals now has seating The airport is ok.

Small in size but very efficient airport .. modernization has been gradually taking place in the last few years .. Architecture wise it's a nice edifice as well. Has three wonderful lounges upstairs in the departures level and wide selection but rather small duty free section. Also has souvenir shops and prices are usually in dollars but Cedis( local currency) is accepted as well as Cards or other major currencies. Might be a bit busy depending on the day, time and how many departures so please check in a bit early..

Airport is small but very functional. Everything moves slowly at the airport. Therefore, do not expect quick service. Luggage may take time. I purchased sim at the airport. The staff at airport ask for "gifts," but this practice is common to all developing countries. The duty free is very expensive compared to Dubai or other major airports. If you want to purchase chocolate (made in Ghana), I suggest purchasing it from the city supermarket instead of at the airport where prices are inflated.

definitely eat somewhere else before you come here. 4x more expensive than typical prices in Accra! Otherwise small, convenient airport. Not much to look at or do once inside, so bring your own entertainment!

I have seen it improving. More needs to be done. Shops are costlier than outside market. Coffee snacks bar not much impressive. However lounge upstairs at gate 5 is nice with shop selling most of travel required things. Best is friendly and respectful Ghanaian staff always ready to help. Best wishes

Most familiar airport, not my favorite. Still stairs down to the airstrip, bus to plane, stairs up to the plane. A true hassle for anyone with any kind of physical challenge.
Delta folks here do the best job. Enjoying the Sanbra lounge.

One of the best in Africa. I had forgot my Bag's color in the mass and thought it was lost. In less than 15 minutes they guys retrieved that. And the policemen ask no money to strangers like in other African countries

a great experience when a kid; you could enter a building as excursion to view planes while they landed and took off.the memorable one was when a small plane displayed its maneuverability in the sky.
my recent best site seeing was when i was in a train and the a landing plane was approaching as if it were going to collide with the train, only to look at the other side of the train to see the plane taxing on the tarmac, that was sooooo terrific.that been said, the airport is undergoing massive expansion project.

Organised and clean. You check in and the return near the entrance to go upstairs for the Departure gates. Well stocked duty shops but if it's early in the morning you won't find anyone.
