  Established in 1948, the school bore the name "Ghana" before Gold Coast became Ghana after the Independence in 1957. Also known as "Osagyefo's Own School," GNC was established by Dr Kwame Nkrumah, who would later become the first president of the Republic of Ghana.

  one of the best secondary schools in cape coast and Ghana.Established by kwame Nkrumah with "9 pennies". its a mix school and offers varied causes about 4 boys dormitories and "3" lady dormitories. the school has undergone some recent renovations.
