The airport is really small but looks very modern compared to the rest of Kutaisi. Arriving here, everything went smoothly. Staff was friendly and helpful. There’s a Georgian Bus booth right after you exit the baggage claim area that offers busses to Kutaisi city, Tbilisi and more places for very reasonable prices. You can pay with credit card if you don’t have local currency yet. There are also various ATMs conveniently located next to it.
They force you to stay in queue for check-in even if you have only hand luggage. Since there are very few flight, they only open check-in 2 hrs prior the flight, so if you are early, be prepared to wait standing (there are only few chairs). They only accept paper boarding pass (not electronic pass on your mobile phone) then they print you another paper boarding pass So much waste of time.
There is only a very simple bar (the waitress was very smily and kind, the second star came from her). Wifi is fine and free.
The airport itself is brand new and easy to use, however the ground staff must smile more:"customer-care" attitude is far from the standards expected in the Western world.
Georgians are, after all,the ones promoting their country as "the land of hospitality" so less chacha and more smiles, thanks!
If you are bound to Kutaisi or Batumi, ignore taxi drivers and proceed to the main road in front of the airport and wave down one of the many Marshrutkas (local mini-van) plying regularly both routes (I would say there is one every 30' to both cities).
Small airport but very modern beautiful architectures. Even once you pass security you can go out in a very nice patio garden.
A small airport. One cafe, duty free shop, currency exchange, bus tickets. Clean and cozy.
Small airport 3.5 hours away from the capital. Best way to reach it by local bus company Georgianbus.
Make sure you arrive with printed boarding pass.
There are comfortable sitting area where you can sleep in case of arriving early.
Nice Airport. Friendly staff. Special mention to Giorgi (Tourist office attendant) incredibly helpful and with a pro-active behavior
Tiny airport with a small cafe and a duty free. There's an outdoor smoking area past security. Everyone in the airport was on the same flight, there are so few leaving per day. Fast check-in and security.
warning, wizzair's ugly onland personnel inside, they where screaming at passengers and then showing registration directions,no smile,no please, just ugly fckn faces.airport's price=quality question looks like perfect but duty free is expensive..beautiful interior and compact size makes passenger relaxed but, here comes wizzair's consultand and (facepalm)
No departures board, there's a hole where it should be but no actual board. Everything is read out in fast Georgian and none of the gate screens indicated which flight. To find my flight I had to walk into a 'queue' (mass of people) and read their tickets. No indication of running late except the staff sat down in the passenger area. No staff to ask for help or information board. If you can afford to fly from else where, I thoroughly recommend it.
Terrible organisation. Two delayed flights with no information. Not even a nice atmosphere inside.
Be warned: there is no currency exchange on the departure side. If you forget to exchange your lari before you cross through security you will be stuck with them as no forex bureaus outside of Georgia buy Lari. Even though we had valid visas to re-enter Georgia (and plenty of time before our flight to make the 25m journey) the border control guards wouldn't let us cross back over to get rid of our 400 GEL so watch out.
A well maintained small airport. Distance from check-in to the gates is 50 meters. You can safely arrive just an hour ahead of your flight and make it through security without any stress. There is a small Caffee after security with prices very comparable to those in the city. They also offer a nice selection of Georgian wine and spirits at the duty-free shop.
Excellent airport, perfect service thanks
Very rude and incompetent staff. They abandon all counters, including the passport control, an hour before the flight. Then you are on your own.
Nice small airport. Very convenient
Beautiful for that small size it is. Staff is nice and helpful.
Its ok small airport everything working fine
Quite small but really impressive. Each of the tourist were offered a bottle of wine by local guards
nice small new airport. very expensive, not the strongest service for passenger and if some, its expensive. anyway it is not airport where you will stay long time for connection flight.
Small, but that's not the problem at this airport. The duty-free shop is ridiculously overpriced (more than double for the same wines you can find in any shop in Georgia) and there is not a single power outlet that passengers are allowed to use in the departure and, as far as I could tell, also in the arrival hall. Very very bad service
