    Dangerous driver with a callous attitude towards the life of others. My cycle to work takes me along Great Suffolk Street. A VHL van pulled out from Pocock Street over the give way lines – about 5 metres from me. I was clearly travelling at a speed that would not allow me to stop safely if he keep pulling out – despite it being my right of way. The driver looked my directly in the eye and kept pulling out causing me to swerve dangerously into the middle of the road and nearly missing the front of the van. I stopped to ask him what he was doing, state that it was my right of way and that he was stupid to pull out in front of me. He then replied saying that it was me being stupid. I reminded him that it was my right of way and that he could have killed me – to which he replied “I DON’T CARE’. Hopefully anyone who decides to use VHL to install their boiler doesn’t get this driver/engineer – and hopefully he’ll install the boiler correctly with due regard to the life of it’s user – or perhaps he won’t care about that either. One star – reluctantly because there's no choice for zero stars.

    Time wasters - avoid. Took time off work twice to allow for their 'estimator' to come round. On both occasions they no showed, with no communication or warning. If you are looking for a service/quote which never materialises then these are the guys for you. As someone mentions below they offer £10 off your order if you leave a positive review on google etc. hence the deceptively above average feedback.

    Good experience with this company. Dennis came to give a quote for repairs of our underfloor heating. He was courteous, efficient and friendly. He was also attentive and went the extra mile to ensure we were happy with the service. Would recommend! Thank you Dennis!

    I took a half day holiday in order that I could get both a Heating Engineer and an Electrician for Village Heating to attend on the same day. At 9:30 I phoned the head office to make sure that the 2 tradesmen would turn up as booked between 10-12 in the morning. I was assured my appointment had been logged. I then phoned at 12:10 when no-one arrived to be told that the heating engineer (no mention of an electrician) was on his first job and that I could expect him between 12-1pm. At 1:15pm I called again and was told that because of an emergency gas leak, the engineer would have to delay attending me until 3-5pm.
    As I had already arranged a meeting at work for 3pm (in the centre of London), I said that this would not be acceptable and that I would write a review for others benefit.
    An emergency gas leak is an acceptable excuse obviously, but why did it take me to contact the company to be informed of the situation? Why did the company not anticipate that it would be inconvenient and irritating to be left completely in the dark with regards the whereabouts of their staff? Could they not send someone else.
    Lesson learned. If you need a quote for work from this company, do not take time off work, but insist they visit in the evenings or at the weekend when it is convenient for you.

    A very good experience from the initial contact via chat to the work itself. Everyone was helpful, VHL kept me informed at every stage and the engineer was so tidy and cleaned up after all pieces of work. I had a new kitchen sink + kitchen and bathroom taps installed. All nice quality and NO LEAKS!! Thank you VHL.

    I had an emergency leak that occurred during the night, and the member of staff on the phone was very helpful. I had an engineer arrive shortly after who managed to contain the leak until the morning. Very happy with the service, will definitely use again.

    We have been very impressed with the customer service from VHL thus far. They came out to repair our office boiler and advised us that they will need to replace a part. Throughout the process we were kept informed, they were on time and everything seemed to be seamless. A far cry from the usual stereotypical boiler repair services. We would certainly use again and recommend. Well done.

    After the initial booked service took place, an unknown fault was diagnosed which required further work and considerable expense. However, eventually, the fault was tracked down and then it was pertinent to go the whole way and do a strip down rebuild.

    The service and rebuild was carried out very professionally, ( myself bring a retired Gas safe engineer), and with the minimum of disruption. My only concern, which is nothing to do with VHL, is the massively high prices of spare parts which tend to push people into going for new boilers rather than repair.

    My only criticism would be, that I had to push the office department to get the relevant paperwork sent to me to make the initial decision, and then had to follow up to get the payment receipts sent. The actual engineer was excellent and understood our initial concerns and offered good advice to help make the final decision.

    I can sincerely recommend VHL as an excellent professional company for boiler and heating requirements.

    Absolutely HORRIBLE - I never write any reviews for anything but this company is a SCAM.

    I wold give minus 5 starts if I could.

    Their business model is to intentionally not find your problem so they can keep charging you for visits.

    We had numerous engineers come over and do nothing except to inspect whatever was already inspected a million times by their colleagues of the same company, complaining they wouldn't stay to solve our problem because they wouldn't pay for extra time on the parking meter.

    And not only that, once we finally got a contractor from another company to find out what was wrong (which was a valve on the pipes, and nothing to do with the boiler) we discover that one of your engineers who changed the part that we didn't need, carried out the procedure so poorly that now we have a boiler with a gas leak - which we didn't have before.

    We spent 2 weeks without heat and hot water and all because those guys were telling us they would find our problem.

    WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE

    I had a leak in my house. Called village heating and a plumber came within a day! Prices are reasonable and the service was fantastic! So happy that they resolved the issue!

    I called VHL as a pipe was leaking in my salon. A plumber came within a day! I was very impressed with the quick service I received. The prices were reasonable and I would recommend VHL to my friends and family.

    The owner replied below but I use an alias for identity fraud reasons but my review is correct. I will check the invoice and edit this review again if price charged was wrong. But it is a FACT that the engineer tried to add issues where none were required to increase the costs. This company also shut down my boiler saying it was pumping Carbon Monoxide into my premises , yet my CO monitor didn't once go off. They then contacted me saying they would put in a replacement boiler for £3500. . The VHL serviced the same boiler several years ago, and the engineer spent 5 mins looking inside and said everything was fine and nothing to be done but still charged me £75 . It is very difficult to convince me that this company is operating with any integrity and honesty.

    The reason I gave 2 stars is that they were doing their best to increase costs for unnecessary work for my father (who is over 80 years old). The Gas fire needed servicing because the pilot light wouldn't come on. Cost £95 . Pilot light started working . Then within a day it went off again and wouldn't light. VHL said it was a separate issue and nothing to do with their original service. Said that we needed a vent put in at a cost of £350 . The gas fire has been okay for 7 years without an outside vent so had my suspicions . Asked them to finally order a new pilot light section and fix it without a vent . Which they did and everything is fine although I think they didn't seal the connection properly because there is still the odd whiff of gas when the fire is turned off (which they claim is yet another separate fault). So I have my suspicions with regards the integrity of this company and will not be using them again.
