Sorry to be honest, but if you’re not motivated enough to get your arse to the gym and be willing to control your food intake a little, then you won’t succeed. FACT.
We can help with goal-setting. We can motivate you during sessions We can give support, encouragement and teach you how to do things.
But MOTIVATION has to come from within.
If you don’t really want to change - I can promise you now - you will fail.

You can get the “metabolic after-burn” from cardio you know? Even though most personal trainers will tell you that only “hiit” or “weight training” burns calories after your session, this isn’t true. EPOC (exercise post oxygen consumption) - is created by the INTENSITY of a session, not the duration or mechanism. Basically, it’s related to your VO2max or heart rate. The EPOC used over the 24 hour window post workout can differ from person to person. But the key point is you will see a better benefit by training to a higher intensity. So, next time you go for your 5km run. RUN HARD AND WITH SOME INTENT!! You’ll not only benefit from an improved aerobic energy system, you’ll also benefit from the extra calories in the 24 hours post a tough run. ❗️LAT ACTIVATION DRILL FOR DEADLIFTS ❗️
Keeping the back under tension and the last contracted is a very important part of the deadlift.
Keeping the scapular depressed, preventing rounding of the spine and pulling the shoulder joint into a stronger position.
If you or your clients struggle with understanding the concept of activating the last during a deadlift, get hem to try this.
NOTE - it’s a good idea to move them straight from the drill onto the barbell so the carry over is easier to see. 👍
