When I was 5 years old, my Mum bought us a piano and I fell in love with the sound that this beautiful piece of furniture could make. I am not sure that Mum loved the sound as much as I did because she swiftly arranged for me to have lessons! When I started those lessons I would play for everyone who would listen, I was so proud of my achievements!

As the years went on and I grew into a typical teenager there were times when I absolutely hated the fact that I had to sit at the piano and practise for 30 mins each evening, I would curse my Mum for making me play.

Hindsight really is a wonderful thing. I am so grateful that she made me play, that she wouldn't let me quit even when I screamed like a woman possessed. Mum really does know best! Now over 30 years on I am able to help others achieve the same enjoyment, by using the skills that I have acquired to teach piano.

I am an experienced and friendly (CRB checked) piano teacher based in Broadlands (Bridgend). I have been teaching piano for about the last 20 years to both adults and children alike. I teach from scratch, so you do not need to be able to read music when you start with me. I focus on building confidence to sight-read, so that in years to come you will be able to pick up a piece of music and teach yourself.
