  Would not recommend. Staff are rude, our room wasn't well maintained. Food was nothing special and frankly would rate this as 2 maybe 3 star.

  Very nice! Great value for money and there's a choice of entertainment! Workout in a VERY nice 15m pool and then eat in the sports bar. Nice.

  Room was a suite which was fine but the bed had a bit of "roll together". The rest of the hotel was clean and the staff friendly. The hotel restaurant was good for breakfast but not very good for dinner. While all edible it wasn't a very high standard, and the dining room had zero atmosphere. It feels very much like a hotel catered for conferences and regular gym users rather than something cosy and romantic.

  Very nice spa, lovely pool but no jacuzzi which i was looking forward to. Oh and chilly when you get out the pool that area needs to be warmer. Staff all fantastic, food amazing and restaurant run well. Only problem was other guests on the ground floor who were extremely noisy when going to their rooms after a few drinks (conference). So noisy 01.30!

  We've been coming to this hotel now for 4 years and the main reason we return is the child friendly environment and the swimming pool which, again is good for kids.
  
  The rooms are reasonably sized and pretty nice for a hotel in this price range. They also accommodate children well in this respect too.
  
  Where they let themselves down is in the catering. The bar food is not too bad but the restaurant is pretty poor. It seems to model itself on a high end restaurant but is an actual fact well below average. A distinct lack of seasoning and average service make it one to be avoided.
  
  I do feel a little harsh giving it 3* but 4 would be flattering. If you do go, do yourself a flavour and eat in the sports bar.
  We'll probably seek out an alternative hotel next year.

  Room was okay, double bed very large but also too soft so didn't provide much support. Room and dinner service was also lacking somewhat. However generally clean and tidy and most staff helpful.

  Really disappointing day, we found the hotel dirty and unloved, the relaxation room was poor and ill-equipped. We weren't once asked how our day was going or if we had enjoyed it at the end. The massage was good but this was the only good part of the day. Not what you would expect when paying £90, so much so that we left after lunch.

  Positives: the hotel have plenty of facilities (which I haven't used) and the rooms are OK. I love the toiletries and the bed/pillows are very comfortable. The staff at the reception was very friendly.
  Negatives: the restaurant. I had a 2-course menu and the main was an overcooked pasta swimming in cream sauce. I did not finish and I never leave food I pay for. The service made me feel invisible by making me wait long by the "wait to be seated" and by the till when paying. They did not ask me how everything was because they might have felt I was not feeling too happy about it. I would not recommend it at all.

  Me & my sister booked their ultimate spa break online, which included 2 nights, 2 x 55min spa treatments, full use of facilities, breakfast, one dinner, one afternoon tea and Prosecco in our room! This is the second time we have stayed at a Macdonald hotel.
  The hotel staff were lovely, unfortunately the leisure centre staff were sparse and often difficult to find for help or assistance.
  The room was comfortable and well equipped. The spa facilities were nice and the treatments were amazing. Great value for money overall.

  We had a 2 night stay here this weekend and it was absolutely lovely! The staff were so helpful and friendly, every single one of them said hello when you saw them and would stop to ask if your having a wonderful time if they could! We had treatments in the spa which was clean and welcoming and had a lovely relax around the pool! The room was spaceous and comfortable and the price was beyond reasonable! The only let down was the breakfast for myself personally but that's only because I enjoy well cooked bacon however there was so much choice I didn't miss out not having it- and if I had wanted some the staff were so approachable I wouldn't have felt uncomfortable asking!
