It's an OK station. Staff are nice but 40p toilets are horrible (I've seen nicer free toilets in stations) and concourse food ridiculously overpriced. I mean, £5.60 just for a pasty. Another typical Network Rail rip-off. Is rather dark but as a train station for a large city, it's pretty average.
Station is very busy but no problems getting around. Staff are really nice and helpful. Just avoid the Pasty Shop upstairs over priced and dried up.
A pretty large train station which is expected as its the capital of Yorkshire. Plenty of shops but the only issue I had was that the lavatory was pretty grimy. Other than that it's not a bad station in comparison to others.
As a disabled passenger I have always been impressed by the support team in Leeds. They are pleasant, Helpful and informative and maintain a good sense of humour under pressure. Waterloo could learn a lot from them. Thanks too Harvey for seeing me safely on board my train today.
Decent station, the staff are helpful provided you have manners when you ask them for help. above average facilities for food and drink, Very good departure information
It's a large station with trains going all over the country. Finding out train times is easy. The staff I encountered were friendly and willing to help.
Good information for trains. Plenty of shops in old section. Toilets. No dustbins though.
Relatively big station but well laid out. Can be busy at rush hour when a couple of intercity trains arrive but otherwise noir to bad. They have toilets and various food & drink vendors that can be used without going through the barriers. Lots more on the concourse. Use the new South entrance to get to some great bars and restaurants in the arches beneath the station.
A big and modern station. You need a ticket to operate the automatic gates. Also a popular exchange route for many train journies across England. The station has enough seating space (very warm too) if you're waiting for your train.
I'll leave it at 4 star, enjoy your journey.
The station is poorly designed, and unable to cope with the number of passengers travelling through every day.
There are insufficient ticket barriers, they are slow to operate, and usually fail. At busy periods this creates a huge backlog of people trying to get through them. Staff stand around watching people struggle with the barriers and do little to assist, further exacerbating the problem.
The stairways leading to the bridges (the only way to reach the other platforms) are narrow and unable to cope with rush hour demands.
Leeds station has many alternative entrances, but they are closed to the public, forcing passengers to use one of the two congested entrances.
In the main concourse area seating is placed poorly, right in the direct route to and from the platforms, forcing people to walk around the seating, causing further congestion.
Outside the pickup and drop-off point at the rear of the station is poorly designed and dangerous. It's too small to cater for the number of vehicles, which block the main road leading to the station and car parks. Due to double-parking and driver impatience it makes it dangerous for pedestrians. It's very rare you will see anyone directing traffic to try and ease the problems.
