Amazing service! Everyone at Goddard’s is incredibly kind and helpful—I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I was nervous about leaving my little one for his dental procedure, but Dr. Alba reassured me every step of the way. Now, my cat is pain-free and happy, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you, Goddard’s!
They responded immediately when my puppy had problems and helped me a lot. From the girls at the reception to all the doctors and nurses I met, they were very kind, attentive and responsive. Great professionals. Highly recommended!
We had to take our wonderful cocker spaniel, Billy to an emergency appointment late on a Sunday evening as our vets was closed. The receptionists, nurses and vets were so thorough, reassuring and quick to see us. We left with a happy pup and feeling very reassured that there is such a place available. Gladly, it wasn’t serious this time but it’s good to know help is so readily available in case of emergencies.
Firstly I would like to say a huge Thank You to Everyone at the Wanstead Vets Hospital for their graceful, understanding, empathy towards myself and family. My beautiful boy Pus sadly passed away on 12/10/24 after 14years of life, I took my beautiful boy to Wanstead Vets Hospital for help and my God what a team. They took me into a side room and gave me time with my beautiful boy a member of the reception team happily spoke to me and help me with the next step.. With myself being a complete mess and tears flowing she was so understanding sadly I never catch her name but she wore glasses. She was so so caring and so understanding towards myself showing me the next step. They resured me that they will contact me once he was ready to come home. With a sympathy card sent to me the following week and a phone call saying that my beautiful boy was ready to come home. My sister collected him and once again they were amazing.. Thank you for your empathy and understanding towards my family the level of respect is so high there. It's literally the best vets hospital in the East London.. So to everyone THANK YOU for taking care of him and now his home at his resting place.. 😭💔❤️
We have had some challenging times with Goddard (management team - money oriented and robotic) but some of on the ground team are exceptional. The reception team are empathetic, understanding pet lovers themselves - friendly and thoughtful. But the reason we’ve kept coming back for a decade now - despite the astonishing prices and ridiculous schedule availability - is the incredible vet Shaun Smith. The hard work and dedication he’s shown to our two dogs has been an invaluable comfort and support through some of the hardest possible times any dog owner will ever have to go through. From the start to the end of one of our beloved dogs’ precious life, Shaun was there. Guiding and supporting until his very last breath, going above and beyond with empathy and an honest approach. I simply couldn’t have got through that last couple of years without Shaun. There was nobody else I could have trusted to help keep our dog healthy for as long as it was right for him, or to have said goodbye to our dog with, or left in his care to go on his final journey. Shaun has truly earnt our trust and the trust of our pets, who both love(d) him. In a field that’s become increasingly mercenary, Shaun stands out as an incredible vet who cares about the pets and the guardians who love and care for them.
I recently had to bring my fur-baby Milo to Wanstead Pet Hospital for surgery, and I cannot express how amazing the entire experience has been. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond all expectations. A special thank you to Shaun for performing the surgery and fixing my little one, and to Agne & Katarzyna for their wonderful assistance throughout the process.
What truly touched my heart was when I emailed last night to check on Milo, and not only did I receive a prompt response, but they also sent me a photo of him. That gesture meant the world to me. A big thank you from Milo too! Thank you, Wanstead Pet Hospital, for your exceptional care and kindness!
My furbaby, Amelia, was in their care for nearly a week. She could not have been in better care. The vets, the nurses and the receptionists, what a fantastic team! I was able to visit and I was given regular updates of her progress. Highly recommend.
On 1st Sept, I phoned in the evening for some advice about my GSD who was possibly starting labour. The young lady (possibly Charlotte) was incredibly helpful and patient. I then phoned again the following evening as my GSD had gone for more than an hour without any sign of the second puppy, again, the same young lady answered the phone and was very helpful. My GSD gave birth to three healthy puppies without any need for medical intervention. I cannot thank you enough for your calm advice while I was panicking about my beloved dog and her puppies. Dog and puppies all doing very well, thank you so much
Worst vet ever only intrested in money and dont care about your pet been sick.i had to rush my rabbit in as he was sick.i phoned them before to say he was realy unwell and needed urgent care as he was getting weaker and was just laying their.Got their and was told to wait in the waiting room my rabbit was getting worst the receptionist walked off i throufht she went to get someone.after 3 min i spoke to the other receptionist who come in amd she said why didnt u say anythink and rushed him off.The vet who dealt with him was rude and didnt care he was dieing had no sympothy for me.I was in realy bad state and crying so much.
Husband spoke to them said we cant pay it all at once can we pay half one month than the rest next month to be told no amd than threats of debt collectors at our door if we dont pay.my husband said bit diffcult to pay all this month as we had a emergancy and money low.Other vet comany i spoke to are happy to do it as they under stand the pets care comes first.
Will never use goddard again their rude and unwilling to compurise..
Unprofessional Shambles
I went to the Wanstead for a professional service. This is far from what i received on more than one occasion whilst my dog was undergoing treatment.
Firstly the rude and uncaring front of house really could do with going on a compassion course. They are cold, miserable and unwelcoming. Asking for a receipt was a crime.
My dog was booked in for surgery today no information prior to the visit advised me she would require overnight stay or that the recovery would take 12 weeks. A bit of a shock when you are expecting your pet home that night.
I was expecting a call following my dogs surgery which was performed at 1.30 today its now 7.30 pm and 5 phone calls later no update. Now the surgeons gone home and still no update. On my 6th call just made another 45 minutes after call 5 I'm told she's ok. I was expecting a little more information than that. So what was done today? I will get a vet to call you in the morning. Seriously? I want to know what's been done if you don't mind. A vet eventually called me back with a brief update at 8.30pm. 11 and half hours after I took her in that day.
This is shocking service Goddards.
I recently visited the vet for a follow up appointment following an operation my dog had at another vets. My appointment was at 5:15 but I didn't get seen until 5:45. These things happen but it would have been nice if one of the three receptionist acknowledged the fact. Once seen the vet performed a check on my dog which took all of three minutes and this cost me £45. He also noticed a slight skin compliant on my and gave me a tube of gel for it. once at the reception desk to pay I found the gel was going to cost £30 so refused it, I then checked online to find the average price for the same size tube of gel is £9, quite a difference. Prior to this I took my dog in because he was having a lot of problems moving. He saw a vet who misdiagnosed his symptoms as a stomach issue. The meeting and medicine cost somewhere in the region of £500. A lot of money for a misdiagnosis. As my dog still had the complaint I returned and the vet he saw the second time correctly diagnosed my dogs spinal issue just from looking at the way he walked - The first vet didn't even look at this, she just squeezed his stomach. I understand that mistakes can happen but when a full check of my dogs condition didn't happen and I had to pay out £500 for basically nothing it leaves a very bad taste in your mouth. Over the last couple of months I've had to pay over £2000 to the vet and the more I visit the more I get the feeling that the people working here are equally trained in the art of selling as they are as vets.
I have been to this vets a few times now. The emergency vet for one of my cats cystitis were great and I could not be happier about having my cat recovered last year. Recently I went into the vets again for an infection from a cat fight. The vet was not really that helpful in regards to information about what we could do apart from bringing him back the next day so they can put him under anaesthetic and have the puss liquid removed as it might be infected. He originally said he will try and get all the puss out so we don't have to come back the next day. He easily gave up and told us to go back after 5 mins. I had to question him how much this will cost.. Then he told me £500, just to removed puss from a swollen area.. That consultation and injection already cost £75 that day. I went to another vets nearby and they treated him with a consultation for £18 total!! That's a massive difference in price Also they gave me more information on what I could do. I feel the service from Goddard is not as well as it could be and money seems to be priority over discussion of the cats wellbeing.
What a brilliant hospital. Dani the on call vet worked throughout the night to help my elderly golden retrevier. Both Dani and Helen (Nurse) are brilliant. Without the dedication of all the hospital staff my dog may well have died. I can't thank them enough.
I would now never go anywhere else.
I cannot praise this place enough. I had to take my beloved cat there yesterday for her final journey and they arranged a private room for us to wait in so she was not disturbed by the other animals and obviously because I was in pieces. The receptionist was wonderful and the vet who saw us was kind, compassionate and loving to my Tilly. She gave us time to spend with her and was gentle and sweet with her and Tilly's passing was peaceful and loving. I have been here before a few times for various animal emergencies and they have always been wonderful.
Thank you .without you shamira would not still be with us .
A special thanks to Kath her vet .
All vets .
accounts and reception staff have been amazing .
I have 4 cats and have always had amazing and kind service
I cannot recommend Goddard's Wanstead highly enough.
After our cat started howling and acting strangely, we brought her in on a hunch there was a problem. Max and the team acted so quickly to realise she had an intestinal problem that required surgery, saving her and ensuring she had a quick recovery. After a few days in the vet hospital she is now home, and doing so well.
I'm so glad we took her, and that the team acted so quickly to determine what was wrong. The affection and care she got from the whole team at Goddard's has been amazing, and we feel very lucky to have had such a fantastic team helping our little one get better. Thank you!

My two cats are about 8 years old now and get the best treatment when they do to the vet (which I'm glad to say isn't too often but generally once or twice a year). I don't think they've seen the same doctor twice, but that doesn't really matter - they get looked after very well. Much appreciated.
