Had a coffee and seafood mixed gril., coffee was too strong, tasted like a week old. Seafood mixed grill was a scabby piece of sea bass, 3 prawns, a small piece of cod, and a piece of salmon, which had been under the grill for a couple of days, so was harder than a welders bench, oh and 5 soggy chips, all for £13.99!!!! Absolutely terrible! Never again!

This place has claimed the record of being the only restaurant I have walked out of before even getting any food. Decided to go here more than 2 hours before a show at the AECC, given its convenient location. We were seated straight away. Staff were pleasant. That is where the positives end. Took 40mins to get drinks to our table, which should have served as a warning sign for the meal. We were eventually told that the kitchen was backed up - but there were literally 4 other tables being served in the entire restaurant so I would hate to see how they would cope if it was 'actually' busy. We pointed out that we were attending a show and would need to leave by a certain time. The waitress advised that our food was coming out in 2mins...and then disappeared for 25mins with no further explanation until we got another 'out shortly' notice. Eventually, after over an hour and a half of waiting and still no sign of the food, we had to leave disappointed. Pretty poor all round but we were given the drinks for free and staff were at least apologetic.

Very nice, helpful staff, and good prices on the meals. The meals were very generous portions, delicious, and quickly served. Puddings also generous. Couldn't fault it at all. Me and friends went last week. We have been a few times, and will keep going there.

Hunter's chicken was delicious with a very reasonable portion size. Friendly ambiance, but the service was a bit slow (at least by this American's standards)

The Brig o Don looks nice, has friendly staff but the food is awful. This is our local that we have went to on a number of occasions over the years and the food has always been pretty standard but nice. The last two times me and my husband have been we have had to complain about the food. We had the ultimate fish and chips the first time which sounded great fish, scallops, prawns, scampi... when it arrived everything had been battered and deep fried. The batter was soggy, not crispy and there was loads of it. Once you scraped back the batter the fish you were left with was nice but very little of it. Our more recent experience we had the Sunday roast, husband had the beef and I had the chicken. All looked impressive when it arrived however once you began eating it was a different story. I had a massive amount of chicken on my plate but once I got through it only a quarter of it was edible. The rest was bones and sludge/blood part of the chicken... I've never known a chicken to have so many bones. The beef was chewy and grisly. The veg was ok (broccoli, carrots and green beans) the mash was over buttered with a layer of skin on top (like it has been sitting under a hot lamp for ages) the roast tatties well weren't roasted, they had been through the deep fat fryer and when you cut them open there was no potato, the potato had disintegrated in the heat, you were left with batter only. The parsnip for some bizarre reason had also been through the fryer, why you would do this I have no idea it just ruined the parsnip. The stuffing leek and apricot was a very weird combination of flavours. The beetroot cabbage had a weird taste, not too sure what it was but it wasn't good. The sausages wrapped in bacon were nice. The manager deducted money from our bill and gave us a free cups of tea and dessert. We had the cookie dough cheesecake... well this was the icing on the cake. It was awful, the only thing good about it was the ice-cream. We are so disappointed to the point that we will never go to the brig o don again for food and we have been customers for years. I feel sorry for the serving staff as they are all lovely, such a shame the food doesn't match.
