Best cream tea ever. Fresh scone, lovely jam, enough clotted cream even for me, served with a few berries and a sqiggle of berry puree. Bit noisy in the restaurant as very busy and no soft furnishings to buffer the sound. Lots of exciting new Yorkshire foods in the farm shop. All the staff-in the restaurant, shop & farm shop were very helpful. Great vibe.
Had an excellent pulled pork sandwich, very big and very nice. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. Great place to eat and relax
Good food although a little pricey. Some staff are good but most are miserable and it puts me off going. Thanks for not even mumbling a goodbye when id just spent £40 +.
Blacker Hall farm shop has expanded quite a lot since my last visit 4 years ago. High quality butchery department was not expensive and the greengrocers was top notch . A great deal of produce is locally sourced.
Local ales are sold and the wine and gin selection was very appealing.
First visit....brilliant. ....food delicious and delicatessen / butchers awesome. Definitely be back soon!
A first rate farm shop with all manner of top quality produce. The restaurant is pretty good too although it's a bit tight for my mobility scooter and the door sill to the garden/playground is a severe test of its climbing ability. The burger I had there today was particularly good

Just had a wonderful afternoon tea and the kids got a very tasty looking ploughman's style picnic. They also had lots of fun in the park.
Excellent farm shop. A tad expensive but good quality. Staff are all friendly. The fruit and vegetables are excellent and has come on in leaps and bounds. Well done.
Overall very good. The farm shop is varied, with lots of fresh produce at reasonable prices. The steak pies are delicious! Cafe/restaurant serves very nice food from Sunday roasts to afternoon teas. Highly recommended.
Not been here for a while. ..They say best quality products. ..perhaps so..but if people are not happy with the end product. .fix it...Some people complain about anything. ..ignore those. ...I always thought brilliant place..converted barn..countryside ect ..inside or out . could be anywhere in the dales.. ..and food prices reflecting just that...usualy its been ok...not great..trouble is hygiene. .cooking. .I don't know ...I had scrambled egg on toast ..I play it safe here...awful lot of it came with dots on...we thought it was mixed with herbs or something. ..tasted reasonable. ....but later that night and the next....diarrhoea. ..but the tea is ok...
Family dinner for an 84th birthday, 2 dinners came before everyone else's, drinks took 3 attempts, food left on tables causing wasps, food was then average at best. Only saving grace was the service from the young but very under resourced staff. Will not be returning anytime soon.
At last my family and I have found a quality fishmonger, we're now regular visitors to the fish van which is ran cheerfully by Debbie in the car park on Fridays followed by a nice breakfast in the cafe. This is a much needed resource here in Wakefield well done Blacker Hall.
'Just' food at ridiculous prices. All the food is over priced, saw a quiche ( family size) for over £5, made me laugh!! What I bought was 3 potatoes large for 75p and two rack of ribs. The ribs where very disappointing, very little meat, had better from Morrison. Also as I do with ribs is cut them up, one end of the ribs had no meat on, never seen that before! Been to alot better farm shops. Matt :-(
