Situated in the heart of Ponteland village, The Blackbird is located on what was once Ponteland castle – the remnants of which can still be seen today. Our food menu boasts country pub favourites combined with a touch of flair to deliver the familiar mixed with just enough intrigue.
Traditional Sunday lunches mingle on the same menu as more adventurous options such as sea bream, leaving the choice in your hands.
Stocking 54 varieties of gin, and a wide range of real ales, there is something for even the most discerning connoisseur in order to allow you to craft your ultimate gin and tonic.

  Did you know we were once Ponteland Castle? 🏰 Which was destroyed in 1388. In 1935, experts uncovered an ancient tower a beautiful Tudor fireplace and many other ancient objects which, due to restorations, can still be found in our beautiful pub today ❤️
