A lovely old hotel with warm friendly and welcoming staff. We had a lovely room and a great breakfast in the morning. Live music and a few drams made the stay.

Is it worth the damage to your trade? Nearly 83,000 people have signed the petition for the cancellation of the cruel Moffat sheep race and will be supporting #DoNotGoToMoffat. Help get the sheep race cancelled and protect your reputation and revenue

Only eaten here but food, drink and staff are all second to none 🍴🍺
Well worth a visit if passing through Moffat. Even worth a detour off the motorway coz it's only 2 miles from the M74. Definitely worth ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just spent one night in Moffat at the Annandale Arms Hotel. FANTASTIC!!! The rooms were great (we were in a larger room located with an exterior entrance. The staff was friendly and professional. The location was excellent. Thank you for an enjoyable night!

Terrible and unprofessional. My wife and I are residents in Moffat and have been regular customers of the Annandale Arms eating there approximately once per month. Generally the food has been good and we have never had cause to complain until approx two weeks ago when we both ordered the special minted lamb pie. This was very poor quality, and the "meat" was gristley/rubbery/ fatty. Normally the duty staff ask if the meal is ok shortly after serving. However, the place was virtually empty and no staff were present in the bar area and we were never asked how the food was. Eventually our plates were cleared and we complained commenting that we have never had cause to complain before but this pie was not good. When I went to pay the young member of staff presented the bill without any reduction. After some discussion a reduced figure was agreed but we were advised that we should have complained before finishing the meal. I agreed but given no member of staff was readily available we had little choice but to continue.
However, the main issue was our recent return visit to the Annandale on Thu 30 Mar to listen to the music. Having taken a seat and in the process of ordering drinks we were advised forcibly in full view/earshot of a crowded bar that we no longer welcome and were asked to leave. No senior member of staff or the manager was available for us to discuss the situation and suitably embarrassed we left.
I find such drastic action based on one genuine complaint to be totally unprofessional and something I have never encountered in the many years I have eaten out. I have recommended the place to many, but after this experience I can only advise stay well clear. It is interesting that very few local people ever seem to eat here. Now I know why.

Stayed one night in this very friendly hotel and got a big comfortable room with a proper bathroom for a very reasonable price. Didn't use the bar or restaurant but it looked popular. Breakfast was enough to set you up for the days walking.
A great option for an overnight stop on the journey south after wild camping in the highlands. Looking forwards to using it again.
