This school has thirty children from the 13 families in the area, teaching a modern curriculum years 1-8 (aged 6-14).
Yalavou School had its heyday during the Yalavou Beef cattle project, one of three large beef producers in Fiji during 1970s-1990s.
Today the classrooms are decorated in children's art and educational posters with the young local teachers proud of their student's achievements.
