Very nice.
The second largest island in the nation, Vanua Levu is much less populated and commercialized than the "mainland" Viti Levu and as a result is much less hurried and more tranquil. There are only two towns of consequence on the island, Savusavu and Labasa with populations of approximately 5,000 and 30,000 respectively. Parts of Vanua Levu offer excellent live coral diving and snorkeling opportunities. Several premium resorts are located on Vanua Levu, Koro Sun Resort and Rain Forest Spa--my personal preference, Cousteau Resort, Namali and Daku.
If you want to experience the Fiji you'd imagined or see on google images come to Vanua Levu. There are more palm trees, more easily accessible beautiful waters, and more traditional Fijian villages. If you only go to Viti Levu you're not experiencing Fiji.
This place is filled with lovely people who are willing to help you whenever they can..
