The atmosphere is lovely and the seats clean and comfortable. When purchasing your ticket you get to choose your seat and I enjoy a discount once I provide my university student ID.

Movie experience at Damodar Cinemas is far superior to other cinemas in Fiji. Comfortable and spacious seats with a proper incline so you're not stuck looking up at the screen or at the back of someones head for the whole movie. Clean facilities, good snack bar, reasonable pricing on the standard and 'VMAX' cinemas.
Only issues are: sound is rarely adjusted to suit movie (explosions, high pitched music, etc. are murder on the eardrums'
- power failure, once in a while the entire cinema goes out, then you sit and wait for them to restore it. Which brings up another issue, the staff are normally friendly and helpful, but when one of these unexpected outages occur, not a single person will tell you whats happening. Recently such a shortage occurred right at the pivotal part of the movie then the audio started and took over 15 minutes before someone realised and stopped it, rewound it, then it happened again full cinema, sitting, waiting, some walking out & returning later, over 30 minutes, and no word on what the status was, if they were attempting to put it back on, or if we should leave. Just 4 staff members standing at the entrance talking and laughing. But that occurs once in a blue moon. 3 times for me over the last 2 years.

I enjoyed the visit, has an Events cinemas. My teens loved hanging out here with their cousins on a rainy day in Suva. It has a food court and a games arcade. Walking distance to the public pool too.

Parking is usually hard to find. Shops are expensive and tickets for movies are just a little bit over priced. The seats are horrible and dirty. I come sitting down for a movie and there is still leftover popcorn and when I watch there is like 30 minutes of advertisements, I mean who like them anyways. When I’m in the movies all of sudden there are people talking loudly while I am trying to enjoy a movie. Speaking of food, drinks, popcorn etc. it is really overpriced. So overall, not good rating.

Cinema experience is great quality theaters good seats
Car park is a nightmare at times, with lines of traffic trying to park or exit onto street, very congested!
Parking for cinemas could be free or capped at 1 dollar maybe
The payment process is slowing exiting traffic causing extreme traffic jams inside the carpark
This then makes the complete experience seem not so good

Expat review: Best movie theatre in Fiji but is comparable to a cheap 2nd run movie theatre in the US.
PROS:
The snacks options are good with decent prices.
The seats and floors could use a deep clean but are not as bad as other theatres in Fiji.
Staff are friendly and it's great being able to reserve seats when you buy your tickets.
Sound/video quality is quite good.

CONS:
The "premium lounge/screen" is a complete rip off with a small screen and overpriced food and drinks that are usually unavailable anyway.
The rest of the screens are very small compared to US theatres.
The seats and floors could use a deep clean (not as bad as other theatres in Fiji).
Be prepared to sit through an obscene amount of advertising at the beginning of your movie.
I took one star off my review because they allow young children into Restricted / 18+ movies. It's horrible to see children subjected to the sex and violence and the staff don't care at all!

It's a great mix of the food fun and movies. The fact is that it's just minutes away from the sea makes the place visitable again . Plus the mini corporate love coming to this socially happening place.

Other than the stuffy smell, and children occasionally in movies not at all appropriate for children, it's a pretty cool cinema. The VIP lounge and movie hall is top notch.

Best cinemas still. Just wish they would chill down the cinemas a tad bit more as it seems to be getting warmer everytime i watch a show there lately.
