Food appears ok but services and management need to be improved. We (12 people from Australia with Chinese background) visited this restaurant a few weeks ago but ended leaving the restaurant very unhappy without dining there.

While ordering Dim sim, we discovered all the prices marked on our yum cha ordering paper are signficant higher than those prices listed on the menu they provided. The actually charged prices are more than double the price listed on the menu. Some people in our group felt being cheated and started considering to leave. Though at that time if the owner could come out to apology, or possible offer whatever the menu prices, we would still stay and continue our lunch. Instead, a Chinese lady in the restaurant, obviously the owner's wife, angrily and rudely argued that the extra dishes we ordered separately, were being prepared already, we are not supposed to leave.

Once heard this, all members in our group started walking out the door.
Although later the male owner came out the door to explain, and made an aplogy to us that menu had not changed since last year when the price increased. Unfortunately the apology and explanation was too late, we have been outside of restaurant's door already.
During this event, I personally can understand that Fiji is still a developing small country. It lacks the law to protect consumers in such situations. And appreciated the husband owner could come out eventually admitted the price on rhe menu was quite confusing .

DISCRIMINAL COMMENT FROM LADY OWNER

One thing i have to point out, (and wish the owner and his wife could see this post). When we start leaving the restaurant, the lady complained, made incorrect assumption and argued loudly this was because we all came from mainland China, with all those known "bad behaviors" brought in there.
This is cross the line, a very discrimination comment, which is totally unacceptable and incorrect.

I went there for their yum cha on a Saturday morning. The food was fine but the variety was lacking. It’s seen better days and I’ve seen better yum cha in terms of variety in Suva before.

China club has an amazing food culture but more so a routine so on my first time I was so lost with how things go! It was definite it talk about the experience. If you go and you must go because it’s one of many things that I think someone visiting or locals enjoy doing on a Saturday early morning breakfast trip. there is a variety of meat to choose from and also veggies. I recommend you to go early to find and get a good spot and also the parking if you’re driving.

For an authentic Chinese culinary experience, this is a great place to try. Not overly expensive, satisfactory customer service and they will call you a cab if you need one.

I wasn't allowed to get into this place because I am not Chinese.. There are 2 bouncers on each side of door telling you that this is Chinese only place..
No Hindus, pakis or blacks allowed here..
Very sad to see that in day and age a race (Chinese) does this to other races..

The China Club is a nice place to have Yum Cha on the weekend. I recommend to go early. If you are feeling for a nice Chinese steam dumpling meal. This is the place for you. The Fijian workers are very nice, however, the Chinese workers can seem aggresive.

This is restaurant, not an amusement park. Though it did present as a rowdy bar. It was very noisy with plenty of beer flowing at a neighbouring table. Not very conducive to an enjoyable night out.
