We did a day trip to snorkel with the reef sharks 15 mins away from the island. It was awesome. After we went to kuata island for a relaxing time. The staff were professional and friendly. Wish we got to stay longer. Will come back.

An amazing weekend in a place that had a spectacular view of the sea and Waya Sewa on one side, and of breathtaking sun sets on the other. Super friendly staff and delicious food, dips in the clear blue sea or the three pools, walks along the white sandy beach or up throught the bushes to the hill top to watch the setting sun. Comfortable accomodation and the peace of mind gained by there being no need to lock your room. This is the home I imagined I'd have eventually. Our bure had ni roof over its bathroom, making showers under starlight a unique adventure. Absolutely fantastic experience. Next time I will go see the sharks and do some fishing as Tai Semi had recommended.

Could easily have been 5 stars

    Super friendly staff.
    Gorgeous tent
    Excellent food
Best home made bread, well, best bread since I left home

A hot tip, book 2 or 3 nights. I stayed for 2 nights and I heard many people trying to extend. But it is full

    So why not 5 star?

Poor water pressure in the shower during morning and day time.

No possibilities to make tea in my tent

Beautiful resort. Staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. Beautiful views and snorkeling and an enthusiastic dive shop team. Food was outstanding, even the lunchtime buffet.

Love this place. We are sad that our prebooked trip only had one night here. Staff is super friendly. Food is good and there is a very relaxed atmosphere. Small resort which is nice as you get to talk to other folks as well. We stayed in the premium ensuite tent bure and it was awesome!!

Truly paradise on Earth, about 3 hrs on a water taxi catamaran to this island. From the port in Denaru. Awesome snorkeling, did not pay to see the sharks but still saw one. Staff was sooo hospitable and knowledge. Cannibalism tour was great too! Not impressed with their Pina coladas but other drinks were great. Wish we had stayed overnight.

Quiet and relaxed island. We felt treated as real guests, not as tourists. A local guy showed us nearby islands and small villages. Therefore, we had the chance to meet locals, were invited into a class at a school and could a little experience the daily life on the islands. Everyone will approach you in a friendly and warm way.

Small and private piece of heaven

Barefoot Kuata was our second stop on our island hopping through Fiji. We stayed in private De Luxe bure right in front of the beach. This was expensive accommodation but it was sooo worth. You will stay in beautiful tent with private bathroom right under the sky. View and beach was lovely, water was sooooo hot that after our arrival we jumped right in water from little boat we came with :) !! Price for accommodation is without food ( as on most of resorts around Fiji ). We really loved staff on this island as everyone is soooo welcoming and friendly and they really make you be part of their family. We really loved Kuru - lovely lady from bar who will remember your names right away so you do not have to tell her bure number or name when ordering drinks. Activities bure was great as well with plenty of snorkeling and diving options. Paul and Jimmy are great palls, same as other guys from activities bure- all loving to chat and have a laugh throughout the day. Rachel - part of diving instructor team gave us really good advices and offered us to organise diving course with their sister resort in Manta - we were not thinking to go for this course as we were only doing island hopping and stayed on each island just for 2 nights and this course is taking 3 days but she offered us to take first 2 dives in Kuata and organise another 2 dives in Manta. At the end we did not take this course but we loved that she offered to organise it for us right away. We went for shark snorkelling and this is must go !!! you will get to see sharks in their natural habitat and get to see them really close - life experience. You can give your GoPro to Jimmy who can dive for you to get really close shots or video of sharks and Paul will explain you about their program of coral planting and importance of what they do. However we would spend little bit longer on snorkelling as in other resorts they do this kind of snorkel trips for longer - but overal was amazing as you get some knowledge during this snorkelling as well. Even thought there was some thinks not totally perfect, I would say that we enjoyed stay in Barefoot most from all resorts we visited. Food wise - as in other resorts you will have to pay day meal package which is including breakfast lunch and dinner ( I think it was around 70 Fiji dollars per person per day ) Food was not bad but it was just slightly warm most of the times and for day trippers there is really not a good choice as you will end up to have 1 item for lunch( just comparing to other resorts we have visited). However we loved fijian lovo dinner with amazing kava ceremony and also you get coffee or tea all day long included in your stay what we really appreciated :). All in one we loved this resort and we encourage everyone to go and meet amazing people in Barefoot Kuata, as this resort is really doing great things for environment and for locals in village and you will love island with amazing sunrise and sunset views. Defo planning to come back

Therefore, we had the chance to meet locals, were invited into classes at a school and could experience the daily life on the island. Everyone will approach you in a friendly and warm way. Don't forget to bring a stock of cigarettes and tasty stuff to eat and drink to share with other guests and especially with locals. Thats not a charitable necessity but rather a appretiated symbol and conversation starter.

My favorite place i stayed in Fiji. At that time (2014) it was the only place to stay with wonderful people and complete peace!
