Socially, great place to be. But my friend got bedbugs from sleeping in one of their beds. When she went to report it they brushed it off telling her "It's not bedbugs". After traveling to Mana to stay at a hostel there they told her as soon as we arrived that she had severe bedbug bites. So instead of taking action towards fixing the poblem, they lied right to her face.
Very nice place. And amazing staff. One of the cheapest in Nadi.
Decent hostel, right on beach. Cool sea breeze but murky water. Good bar, below average food. Failed to pick us up from airport as listed. Decent value overall.
Spent a night there under the coconut palms beach bar. The staff were reliable and friendly. And honestly they offered the best pizza ever had in fiji. Was truly an amazing place to stay. Enjoying morning glory on the beach is a must .!! Will see you soon bamboos
Really nice hostel for young and old travellers. The staff is amazing and they really make you feel like home
Stayed here 3 different times on the same trip. There are a bunch of backpackers on this street but this one is definitely the best. The place has a great vibe with a lot of travellers coming in and out (the other lodges seemed a little barren of people from a quick walkaround).
Great food - a little pricey but normal rates compared to other hotels in the area. Great common area around the back to have a relaxing drink on the beach by the sea. We stayed in a private room that was clean, comfortable and affordable. Definitely recommeded!
Friendly staff, clean as much can be on Fiji (really good) 30min walk to "center". Grocery and liqueur shop near with ANZ ATM. Just search around and don't be scared.
Good accommodation on a budget. Stayed in the 8 bed dorm, which had air conditioning, small storage lockers (big enough to cram a standard-sized school bag), and powerpoints and lights at every bed. Laundry service was about FJ$3/kg for the ladies to take a bag, wash and dry everything for you, which was greatly appreciated after two weeks without a laundry run! Compare this to Smugglers Cove where you do it all yourself, and it's in the ballpark of $8 for the machine, $4 for the detergent and $4/cycle for the dryer (I doubt you'd do it all in one cycle). Unlike other budget accommodation in the immediate vicinity, I had almost no problems with the free wifi-- it won't win any awards for speed, but at least it never dropped out or kicked me off.
One downside for me was that I arrived very early in the morning, way before check-in, with the anticipation of "storing my luggage" in their advertised "luggage storage" and heading off to a pre-booked activity for the morning-- my bags were "stored" in an open lounge area behind the front desk, where anyone could access them. I keep a lock on my luggage, of course, but that's not much help if someone is simply able to walk in off the street and take my entire bag. This accommodation is fine otherwise, but this practice put me rather on edge. Would visit again, provided I could store my luggage in my room at all times.
Pretty OK! Not bad. Not great.
Clean place with good food and nice people. Would stay again!
Very good and very clean. Good kitchen facilities. Only critisism, Rooms and toilets need a bit of an update.
Stayed there for a week in April and it was a really good choice. The rooms are very clean, nice and absolutely not expensive. The food is amazing and definitely cheaper then everywhere else and I would not recommend to eat at smugglers. Don't expect too much though, it's just a hostel. But the staff is awesome and sooo much fun. Especially Mateo! They'd do everything to make you have a great trip. If you like party and meeting people, this is definitely the right place to go. I just loved the atmosphere. But don't believe everything the Fijians tell you 😄
This is a beautifull and great resort to start your Fiji-Trip.
Free Shuttle from Nadi-Airport.
As you arrive at the Bamboo, they will help you whenever they can.
Accomodation, food and drinks are cheap and good and its a clean and cozy Resort.
Nice place. Wifi is working. Cool bar at beach to hang out but no kitchen for cooking only option is to buy food in bar.
I stayed here twice. At he beginning and at the end of my Fiji travel. In total over a week and I enjoyed every day. Staff are friendly. Location is all right. Nothing really Fijian but for a starting point it's good enough. One can meet here travellers all over the world because this place is not just cheap, close to airport but got a nice, vibrant and friendly atmosphere.
Really good and affordable hostel. Food is also good but not very affordable for a Backpacker. Nice pool to cool out. Free pickup from airport and very friendly staff. To the other reviewer : never saw that the staff throws rocks or hurt the dogs here. They are just laying here around and nobody is hurting here them.
Really friendly staff, and people from around the world that stay there. I stayed there for 4 nights and the picked me up from the airport, fed me for cost, and provided me with a nice room. I decided to opt for the single room, no roommates and it was wonderful. The only qualm that I had is the beach was not great and there were no included activities. Everything was at a cost, even a simple hike.
I had a highly enjoyable one night stay here at the end of my Fiji holiday. I had an early flight the next day and this was close enough to the airport. The staff were friendly and very efficient.
The food was reasonably priced for Fiji and not too bad on the palate and they actually sold wine that had not been corked by the extreme heat.
Met lots of fun people and had a really great evening and a reasonable sleep.
Would highly recommend to stay here for one or two nights whilst transitting to other islands.
