We brought my mother-in-law's 17-year old cat here after a few days of malaise, sleeping all day long and not eating. She was pretty dehydrated at the time. We met with a young veterinarian from Portugal. Being a physician myself, with some self-acquired knowhow of animal medicine and wide experience of volunteering in cat rescue associations for + 10 years, I have seen my share of unprofessional and clueless veterinarians. I am glad to say that this most certainly was not the case here. The vet was was very professional, spoke finnish and english very well and was thorough with her history taking and examination. Even though we disagreed in minor way and were reluctant to take all the blood tests she offered, she took it very well and offered us a control meeting later on to ensure the wellness of the patient. We were very glad to have had such experience and heartily recommed her to anyone. Ps. The cat got better with rehydration and feeding, we will be doing ctrl blood tests later to make sure the mild anaemia observed in previous blood tests is getting better.
