very nice location for dinner, good food and very nice people. we got even lucky with the weather which made it even more special. about 15min away from Kotka Harbor. a must go to for everyone that likes a little "special". I really enjoyed the soups they were offering, meals are a bit small compared to other places. I'll be back ;)

The best restaurant in Kotka. It is located on an island, a boat goes there from the town (Kotka Sappoka) every hour. Menu includes great dishes, one of them is "todays catch" - fresh grilled fish

Auf der Insel Varissaari, vor Kotka befindet sich ein Restaurant in historischen Räumlichkeiten. Die Insel war einst Verteidigungspunkt und heute stehen dort Geschütze und Denkmäler. Das Restaurant selbst ist im Osten der Insel und ausschließlich mit dem Boot zu erreichen. Der Betreiber selbst hat ein Boot, welches als Wasser-Taxi eingesetzt wird. Das Ambiente wirkt modern und mit Liebe zum Detail. Am Eingang befindet sich die Bar, hier begrüßt einen die Bedienung herzlich. Es wird einem eine gute Auswahl an Gerichten geboten. Diese waren vom Starter bis zum Dessert stimmig und raffiniert angerichtet. Lohnend ist ein Rundgang um die Insel, hier finden sich auf dem Weg alte Kanonen. Ein Besuch im Sauna Boot ist sie finnische Art den Tag abklingen zu lassen. Im Sommer wird die Insel von einheimischen Besucht um Freizeitaktivitäten nachzugehen.
