The food (Aino menu) was good and it matched the price, in my opinion. Service was fine also. Interiors of the restaurant are quite plain and simple. A very Finnish restaurant, I would say

One of the recommended restaurant for traditional Finnish food by receptionist in my hotel and was glad that I made it as a lunch/dinner choice! Came at around 4pm with 2 pax, and was promptly attended to. Ordered creamy salmon soup, Baltic herring and Elk (all the dishes under traditional dishes) and they were really good! Especially the fish which seems to melt in your mouth.. delightful meal!

Superb Finnish dining. Good selection of wines and beers to accompany the tasty food. Not cheap but well worth the money.

Good place to try local tasty Finnish cuisine. Salmon soup & Smoked Salmon were delicious. Difficult to explain in case you want to customise your dish as they don't speak English well. But staff was helpful. Must visit.

Everything from bread to food was tasty! I tried the slow roasted beef briskey with potatoes and it was very soft and flavorful! Portions are smaller than how I am use to in U.S.A and prices are a bit higher but the food is tasty. Only thing, waiters/waitresses were more focused on attending the big group and older aged customers than my husband and I who were the youngest ones there. After the food was brought out no one stopped to check on us again and we had to call someone and ask for the check 3 times before they finally did.

I am really struggling to give Aino four stars, but I suppose the menus are quite affordable. Food is well prepared but the dishes lack a sense of season. Sure the tastes are Finnish, but Finland of the fall and not summer. Service is good, both English and Finnish. For a four star restaurant I'd go elsewhere.

I took a colleague from Austria to Aino so that she could try the Finnish cuisine. The menu is not too extensive. There are about 4-6 options in each section, facilitating the selection of the dishes. We both went for the reindeer with blackcurrant sauce and rosemary potatoes (38 euros) . It was absolutely superb and beautiful. The meat was very tender (I ordered rare) and the seasoning of the sauce was right on the spot, not too sweet. For dessert, I got the praline pastry with house made ice cream. It has been a long time since I have tried a dessert in Finland that was as delicious as this one. The small dense cake was mainly made of almonds. The frosting and decoration had a nice subtle praline taste. However, combined with the milk caramel decorations on the plate the praline flavour was enhanced. The house made ice cream was very smooth and simply delicious.

Overall, Aino serves high quality fresh Finnish food. The staff was friendly and efficient. Note: portion sizes are slightly smaller than in other restaurants, so for bigger appetites I would recommend ordering some starters.
