Excellent food and atmosphere! It's a classic restaurant for authentic Finnish food. Was very happy with the food quality, portions (we couldn't finish everything!), and service. The paintings on the walls added another classic touch.

There's a very nice bar down under. It's called Albert's Wine Cellar. There you can be free. Sing, dance and talk. People around you are free and kind. You can drink beer from impressive selection.

If you're tourist in Hämeenlinna and looking for traditional finnish food, i suggest you head over to Piparkakkutalo, which is also the most marvelous restaurant of this town.

It has potential to be 4/5 star restaurant but there's always something missing or something too much. Food is often greasy and almost there, however there are some brilliant spot on portions like salmon soup which is excellent on any standard. Portions are definitely large enough to make you full, service usually not too shabby. Make sure the kitchen is not too busy as once we waited for more than an hour and they hadn't even started yet. However, I've been there since and they've done much better.
