The best science museum I ever tried. It's the place for people at all ages. All expositions translated in English, Finnish and Swedish. And lot of expositions have explanations on Russian.
If you travel on Allegro train from Russia without a big baggage and Helsinki is your main destination. I suggest you to stop on Tekurila station, drink some coffee there and go to the museum first.
The place is great, it has so many cool experiments and you learn a lot during the day. The planetarium offers a range of interesting shows (usually around 30 min. each). You would need around 4 to 5 hours to enjoy the place, however the ticket is quite expensive for a visiting student (who doesn't study in Finland) with a price tag of 15 €.
Interesting science centre. Changing exhibition and normal selection. Normal show needs a bit refressing.
We had a fun day, could've spent more than five hours. Some of the commercially sponsored content wasn't that exciting put enjoyed the basic activities and planetarium shows and the Animal Body World's exhibition was very interesting. There was lot of spaces to do the activities (some of which are a bit simple, have to admit) and because it wasn't crowded we had a much fun experimenting.
I wished that there were more experiments there, and experiments for adults, too, and more theory explained behind the science. And also more science fields-related things in the building, like lasers and chemicals. The math area was VERY small and I wanted more of that. The animals display was very impressive and cool. The physics demonstrations were nice, too, and so were the Smart City interactive things.
Very educational. Learned a few new things at the venue. Mainly aimed at kids though I thought. The animal body exhibition was very interesting.
There was fun and great but 3 stars are because it's too historical and educational for me. I don't like those types of places. But this place would be great if you are a kid or you love to learn more about the world and what it used to be. Cafeteria there is too expensive for anyone who has a low budget.
AMAZING Science Centre!! So much to explore. Went here with the other 5th Class English Graders!!
Very interesting science museum even to adult alone. Nice educational place. A little far from station.
Fun for the whole family and you're sure to learn not only about the universe surrounding us but also about yourself. There are many interactive displays including a bicycle that you can cycle above the display hall on a cable mounted in the ceiling! Interactive exhibitions vary regularly and not all displays are permanent so I recommend you follow them on social media to catch the latest features. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the rat basketball and the cafe didn't have much food available in the afternoon but I'll be back to tick them off the list!
Fun little science museum. For adults it's good entertainment for 2-3 hours if you've never been there before. Children are happy to spend there entire day.
First time visited the place during special occasion - pay as you want. The result was very unsatisfying. Labs were closed. No experiments. No way to get to the planetarium. 15 to 30 minutes rows to participate in activities. Physics sections was outstanding, but if same happens during normal days, the place doesn't worth it money (around 25 EUR per person). Still 4 stars with a hope that regular days are worth of entrance cost.
