Since my first visit hear some six years ago, this has been one of my favourite places in Ethiopia.
Back in Ethiopia for a few months so we made the obligatory weekend trip from Addis Ababa.
They were out of bread, out of Bicha Sanofich and seemed generally overwhelmed and confused by the people in the establishment wanting to eat.
For a place with less character and history, I would be much harsher and less forgiving. Being Yilma I can overlook this all and say that this is still the best Tibbs house in Ethiopia. Sitting on the patio watching wait staff skirt across the road between moving and parking cars I found myself, once again, suspended between some fantasy and the reality unfolding. Under the canopy of some well aged trees and savouring the single order of Bicha Sanofich I was given, I was happy.
The Yilma in Addis Ababa, while behind on character, may actually be ahead in food and service.
